Gwyneth Paltrow's Cheating Partner Jeffrey Soffer Sued In Helicopter Death Crash

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s rumored lover, Jeffrey Soffer, has more problems to face than his alleged affair coming out in Vanity Fair. According to a report from Page Six, Jeff has been sued regarding the helicopter crash that killed his best friend, Lance Valdez, last year.

Apparently, the lawsuit claims that Jeff was the one who was in control of the helicopter when Lance died, and it also claims that Jeff managed to cover up the truth with his money. Since Jeff doesn’t even have a helicopter pilot license, it wouldn’t look too good for him if this allegation was proved correct.

The lawsuit is also lent more credibility and weight because of the fact that the person suing Jeff is Dasha Valdez, Lance’s widowed wife. She claims that Jeff tried to persuade her to accept a $2 million settlement, and also sign a waiver that would relieve him of responsibility. A part of the lawsuit reads, “At the time of the crash, the helicopter was being piloted by Jeffrey Soffer. Soffer was not licensed to fly. [Nor was he a] sufficiently experienced helicopter pilot. The purpose of this was . . . to induce [Dasha] to accept $2 million in insurance proceeds . . . as full damages and recompense for the death of Lance. If it was discovered that Soffer was piloting the helicopter without a license, he could be personally liable and responsible . . . for the death of Lance Valdez.”

Of course, Soffer’s lawyer and rep has already released a statement claiming that he had nothing to do with the helicopter crash, even though he had the utmost sympathy for Dasha and her children. Well, isn’t that what they always say? There had to have been some trigger for Dasha to find out the truth, or what she claims is the truth. It’s not listed in the report how she changed her mind, or how she realized that Soffer was actually piloting the vehicle. However, it wouldn’t be the first time an enormously powerful businessman got away with murder – literally.
