Is Jennifer Lawrence engaged to longtime boyfriend Nicholas Hoult? That’s what the rumor mill is spinning these days, after J-Law was spotted at a recent event sporting what looked suspiciously like an engagement ring.
She appeared at an AFI tribute for director David O. Russell two days ago, wearing a sparkling diamond ring that could have maybe, possibly been an engagement ring. However, the next day – at the Hunger Games: Catching Fire world premiere in London – the ring mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps she was wary of the possible speculation?
I think by removing the ring, she’s caused more of the speculation to take place. Jennifer knows that she’s currently one of the most heavily scrutinized celebrities in the world, especially with her recent haircut making waves in the media and Catching Fire so close to release. So she should have known that wearing the ring would cause speculation, no?
Of course, an alternative theory is that the AFI event was a lot more intimate, and she assumed that nobody would notice the ring. In contrast, the Catching Fire premiere was obviously much bigger and she knew every inch of her was going to get photographed and analyzed, and she didn’t want to set people talking.
In the end, we’re still left with no conclusive proof apart from a few allegations from ‘sources’ that Jennifer and Nick might be engaged. For what it’s worth, I don’t think either of them would choose to get engaged at such a young age, especially with such busy careers. Both Jennifer and Nick are booked solid with film shoots for the next two years, and if they’re still together at the end of that, I’m sure there might be a more serious discussion along the way.
