I have conflicted feelings on Justin Bieber‘s recent behavior. On the one hand, he is acting exactly like a teenage boy would act if they had millions of dollars, complete freedom, and utter lack of responsibility. On the other hand, he IS famous, and he is still a role model to millions of teenagers across the world. So should we crucify him for his behavior, or allow it because he’s a teenager and that’s what teenagers do?
It’s certainly a conundrum, but this latest bit of news is pretty difficult to defend. According to a report from TMZ, Justin held a ‘Gatsby’ themed party last Friday, which was attended by fellow douchebag Chris Brown.
According to eyewitnesses at the party, there were close to twenty naked strippers milling around, and that’s not even counting the rest of the naked party guests. And of course, because Justin is such an expert on tipping strippers, he ended up spending more than $10,000 on the strippers.
Obviously, there was a lot of alcohol and a lot of weed, and probably a lot of other illicit substances going around. The party got so out of hand that the neighbors complained about Justin ‘disturbing the peace’, but that happens pretty much every other day so it’s not really news.
Again, having a small gathering of close friends and maintaining a level of privacy is considered the norm for celebrities. Justin, obviously, doesn’t give a rat’s ass about his image, and this just seems like a giant f u to the system and to the media. It’s too bad that he’s so rich and famous, because if he wasn’t, he would have already had to pay the consequences of his wild debauchery and constant partying. Unfortunately, his wealth has enabled him to continue this lifestyle for as long as he sees fit, so I don’t expect to see changes in his behavior any time soon.
