With the HRH Royal Baby Future King swathed in cloth and held tightly in their arms, Kate Middleton and Prince William looked like the picture perfect family outside of St. Mary’s hospital in London. They stood for pictures while the hundreds of photographers snapped away, and then Kate shifted the baby into William’s arms as they made their way down to the steps to talk to the press.
Affiliates from most prestigious news outlets spoke to Will and Kate about their new son and as an answer to assorted questions, Will replied, “He’s got her looks, thankfully. He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure. He’s a big boy, he’s quite heavy.” He also joked when a reporter asked about the baby’s hair, and he replied, “He’s got way more than me, thank God.” Kate also added, “It’s such a special time. Any parent will know what this feels like.”
The baby’s yet to be presented to the Queen, but that will happen before she leaves to Balmoral and France at the end of the week. Will and Kate have revealed that they’re still holding off on naming their son because they’re still debating. Obviously, the Queen has to approve the name so it might be the end of the week until we find out.
Even after the interviews, Will and Kate tried their best to seem ‘normal’, even if they’re as far from normal as possible. I can totally tell that this will be their schtick – the ‘normal, relatable, royal couple’. After talking to reporters, Will and Kate got into an SUV without their entourage, and after Will safely buckled in the baby into his baby seat, he got in the front and drove them away.
