New Duchess of Cambridge pics at Queen Elizabeth’s coronation ceremony! Kate Middleton and Prince William showed up this morning at Westminster Abbey for the first time since they were married there two years ago. She wore a pale peach/pink Jenny Packham dress and coat. What do you think? It’s subdued. Obviously you’re not going to pull out the big guns when the day is all about the Queen. Kate tends to do that but I’m meh about the whole thing. You can look subdued in a vibrant color and Kate looks so much better in deeper colors. Oh well, fashion miss for me. But let’s ask the important question here – did she make you feel inadequate about yourself?
Kate Middleton’s pregnancy style is under fire for making pregnant women around the world feel like shit. That’s why we all love Kim Kardashian and her fashion disasters so much! An actual poll was taken and 71% of expecting moms feel like Kate (and other “yummy mummies” whatever the hell those are) are raising the bar too high. Let us be with our pints of ice cream and stretchy pants! Who the hell wants to worry about being fashionable while pregnant? Just look where it’s getting our Kimmy! She’s a KFC bucket full of try.
I suppose I’m a good person to get in on this topic since I am a first-time pregnant woman due around the same time as Kate. Is she making me feel like crap?
Well… no more than usual.
But it’s not her fault. I don’t have events like coronations to go to so my maternity style is rather lacking. When I’m at home I vedge in my comfortable lululemon pants and t-shirts but I did that before I was knocked up so I really haven’t changed much. We only see Kate when she’s dolled up. I want to know what her TV-watching apparel is so I can judge us on the same playing field. But really, I care less about Kate’s style and more about her weight. I get a sick pleasure whenever I notice her cheeks have gotten bigger since I just noticed the same in mine. She’s definitely filling out a little bit and that’s all I really wanted. That actually makes me feel better about myself. The women in these polls need to grab a coke and a smile and relax. Kate’s almost done torturing us. She’s got a month to go. Then she can go back to torturing us with more skinny jeans and naked bikini spreads.
