Kris Jenner has built a whole empire on controlling her family and pimping them out whenever an opportunity presents itself (ahem Kendall Jenner/Harry Styles). I don’t think that she’s used to hearing the word no either so Kris was handed a cold, hard dose of reality recently when her daughter Khloe Kardashian decided to grow a set and stand up to her. The Kardashian family gathered at the Beverly Hills Polo Club to celebrate Kris’ birthday and there was one person missing from the guest list – Lamar Odom.
According to the Dec. 16th print edition of National Enquirer Kris had purposely left Khloe’s drug and hooker ravaged husband off the list and when Khloe told her that she was bringing him, Kris freaked. She told her that the party was only for family and at this point she certainly doesn’t consider Lamar to be that. Khloe was upset by her mother’s slight, especially when Kris knows how hard her daugter is working to save whatever remains of her crumbling marriage. Kris thought she could control the situation but Khloe one upped her and informed her mother that if Lamar wasn’t welcome then she would also not be attending her mother’s celebration. Kris eventually caved and no doubt spent the evening avoiding her son-in-law.
Did Kris really care if Khloe missed the party? Probably not but she didn’t want E!’s rolling cameras to not catch proof that the whole family was together. That is probably why Kris caved – having Khloe MIA would have been bad for their already faltering brand. Their show, Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s, is finally watching its numbers tank – down by a million per episode this season!
