I have a feeling Kris Jenner is none too happy with her self-admitted favorite daughter, Kim Kardashian this week. After years of letting mom control her career and determine who she does business with, Kim has made an abrupt turn directly away from the standard Kardashian PR team. She dropped PMK*BNC’s Jill Fritzo in favor of Slate PR co-founder Ina Treciokas who boasts a list of impressive clients including Sarah Jessica Parker.
Kim’s split from the family business is no doubt being controlled by baby daddy, Kanye West. Page Six reports from a source, “Kim wants to set herself apart from the Kardashian p.r. machine, and Kanye West advised her to build her own team.”
While Kris capitalized on Kim’s homemade porn career Kanye seems to want to legitimatize poor Kimmie, but will Hollywood ever really accept her into the fold? So far the answer seems to be no. In order to transform yourself from whore to bonafide business woman there has to be some brain power at work. We all know that Kim is not only managed, but she is also completely built by whomever has the most control in her life. I’m not sure if she has ever really made a serious decision for herself on her own.
Kanye seems to think that with the right help Kim can become a respected member of the crew that he normally runs with. Step one seemed to be setting Kim apart from the rest of her family by insisting that she go blonde. Now rather than looking like a Kardashian she is a dead ringer for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill’s Adrienne Maloof. Not necessarily an upgrade!
