While Kristen Stewart’s career falters and grinds to a halt, Robert Pattinson’s career has never been more on fire. After wrapping up ‘The Rover’ with Guy Pearce in Australia, he’s been taking a small break before he heads into 2013 with a full slate of movies. He will be reuniting with David Cronenberg and Sarah Gadon on Cronenberg’s next film, ‘Maps to the Stars’. Considering that Pattinson got his first critical raves for his performance on Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, the reunion makes sense. In addition to Maps to the Stars [which also stars heavyweights Julianne Moore and John Cusack], Pattinson has Mission: Blacklist, Queen of the Desert, and Hold On To Me all in pre-production.
Kristen Stewart, on the other hand, has just been confirmed for the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. That seems like good news, right? Well, it would be except for the fact that Stewart has just dropped out of [or was forced out of] Focus, the film that she’s been attached to since last year. According to Variety, Kristen dropped out because the film was about a love story, and Stewart felt that Will Smith [who signed on to the film this morning] was too old to play her lover. I’m not so sure she can be so picky, especially considering that the previous guy playing the lead was Ben Affleck. So 44 year old Will Smith is not ok, but 40 year old Ben Affleck is?
Either way, Stewart now has SWATH 2 in pre-production as well as The Big Shoe with Elizabeth Banks and Tom Sturridge. However, now that she’s out of Focus, and the Big Shoe doesn’t have a production or release date, she will pretty much be jobless until Snow White goes into production next year. Do you think that will affect Kristen? Watching her boyfriend work non-stop, and with esteemed directors and actors, while she’s at home doing nothing? Let us know what you think in the comments.
