shady, Shady, SHADY! As a Celeb Dirty Laundry reader, you probably love to know what you favorite celebrities are up to and what the latest Hollywood gossip is. You love all things pop culture. Although I’m a writer for CDL, I’m just like you. I love pop culture, gossip, and all aspects of the entertainment industry. So, I have a few sites and blogs I visit regularly to get my Hollywood fix. Perezhilton.com is one of them. I’m not really a fan of Perez Hilton, the personality, but I enjoy the news that he posts. However, the subtle shade he’s been throwing at one particular star has caught my attention.
It’s no secret that the friendship between Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton has ended. We don’t know exactly what went down between the two or even when it happened. But, they have been in a public feud for a few months and have exchanged some words on Twitter. Gaga claimed Perez was stalking her when he looked to rent a New York City apartment in her building and she says she’s saved every “psychotic” text he sent to her. While Perez responded saying she was cruel and he was “still healing, removing the knife from my heart.”
The public personal jabs seemed to have stopped. Probably because Gaga is busy performing and promoting ARTPOP. But, for some reason, Perez is still dragging the feud on by posting subtle shady posts on his blog. He’s been commenting on Gaga’s fashion choices, her music, and comparing her to Katy Perry. Now this is what a blogger is suppose to do, but it’s the way Perez is doing it that makes me look at him with a side eye.
Instead of writing a full post on Gaga, he chooses to post a link to his Twitter, Facebook, or another site entirely with a shady one-line to catch the readers attention. We all know she wears some crazy outfits. I mean, I said she looked like a lost McDonald’s McNugget (which she did) when she wore a huge chicken mask last week. Perez covered this by posting the picture and telling his readers to “fill in the blank.” Oh, and to do so, you had to go to his Facebook account. At least I covered the story with “what, when, where, and why.” Other posts on her fashion have been similar with Perez saying something like “preview to her Halloween costume?” or asking his readers to comment.
He even attacks her new music. He doesn’t give reviews, he just says it sucks, it was copied, or says it won’t be a hit. He also compares her to Katy Perry because their singles and albums have similar release dates. These posts often sing Katy’s praises and highlights her Prism success while he completely trashes Gaga.
Katy also generally gets full posts. While Gaga’s little blurbs are filed under “Facebook” or “Twitter.” This means if you go to his site and specifically search for Lady Gaga, these shady stories won’t show up. But what does show up are recent posts about Gaga’s legal troubles, poor music sales, and current celeb feuds. Mr. Shady Boots!
I’m not a hardcore Little Monster, but Perez’s sly shadyness really caught my eye. This is the same man that says he has stopped being a bully and wants to be a better person, especially now that he’s a father. I understand having an opinion and showing a little sarcasm. I do it too, but you don’t have to be so shady about. And if you’re going to through shade, at least own up to it and be a big, tall shade tree!
