Back in Storybrooke, Ariel and Belle come to the docks in search of Eric – where Gold told her he worked. She sees Eric angrily lopping the heads of fish and remarks to Belle that he must really hate her. Belle tells her to go talk to him and he looks up as she walks up. He says – Ariel – and pulls off his apron. He smiles at her and kisses her. Belle watches – a little sadly – when they hear a noise in the sky. They all look up and see the Jolly Rodger plummet back down into the harbor. Belle says – he’s back.

The town assembles at the docks and cheers as the rescuers disembark. Granny hugs Henry as does Grumpy. Then Emma is next for hugs followed by Snow and Charming. Regina notices that no one runs to hug her. Emma asks Henry how it feels to be home and he says – better than I ever imagined. Belle smiles warmly at Gold.

Then the lost boys come off the gangplank. Felix stares at Henry. Gold hugs Belle tightly and she says she told him she would see him again. Neal says he found his Dad’s cane and they hug as well. More and more lost boys come off the ship and then Wendy follows. John and Michael run to hug her and they are thrilled. She introduces them to Neal (as Baelfire). They say it’s time for the Darlings to go home.

Snow asks Charming how he’s feeling and he says he feels good. Hook tells him he would have died already if the cure wasn’t working. Emma tells everyone assembled that they would never have made it out alive if it had not been for Regina. Everyone turns to look at their “mayor.”

Flashback to Snow and Charming’s wedding when she promised everyone she would destroy their happiness and Charming threw a sword at her. After the wedding, Snow storms into their chamber and asks Charming what he could possibly say to make her feel better. She wants to storm the Queen’s castle and steal her magic.

Charming says you can’t win a fight over your happiness on the battlefield. He says they need to go on their honeymoon and forget about her. He says it was just a threat and if they let her ruin their honeymoon they’ve already lost their happiness. He tells her they can go anywhere she wants on their honeymoon and she says she wants to go to the Summer Palace where her parents honeymooned.

He says he’ll make preparations for their journey and runs out smiling. Grumpy comes to tell her that the castle is secure and he says he overheard their honeymoon discussion. He wonders if it’s a good time to go on a trip but she tells him there is something at the Summer Palace that can help them defeat the Queen and he realizes she has an ulterior motive.

Now: Charming asks Gold what they need to do about the shadow and Gold says it can’t hurt anyone there because they only person that can release it is in Pandora’s Box (except he’s not!) Felix asks Henry/Peter what if they open the box and he says not to worry about it. Felix asks what’s next and Henry calls for his parents and says Felix needs to be punished. He tells Felix they need to trust him.

Regina says her son is right and that he can’t walk free. Charming hauls him off to jail. Gold locks the box under his floorboards and seals it with magic he says no one can open but him. Henry asks if he’s sure and he says not to worry – he wants Pan trapped as much as Henry does. He says as long as he’s alive, Pan will never see the light of day.

Gold and Belle are in his shop after everyone has left. She straightens his tie and asks what now. He says he never asked himself that before because he didn’t think he had a future. She says there are endless possibilities and he says only one interests him – the one where they are together. They kiss.

At Granny’s everyone is happy and toasting with beer. Emma gives Henry the book and is surprised that he’s not happier. She asks if he’s okay. He says he’s okay. Hook watches from the counter. Neal comes over and asks why he’s staring at Emma. Hook says he’s going to back off so Henry’s parents can have a fair shot at being together. Neal thanks him and Hook says he’s in it for the long haul and he’s not so sure Emma will have him back.

Tink comes into Granny’s and Regina demands she give Tinkerbell her wings back. Regina says she even got her pixie dust to glow. She tries to show her but can’t get it to work and Blue says the problem is she doesn’t believe in herself and says she can’t believe in Tink if she doesn’t believe in herself.

Neal comes over awkwardly and tries to ask Emma for her date. She says she doesn’t know. Neal says he’s going to come to Granny’s to eat lunch tomorrow and will be happy to see her there. Her parents walk up and says she knows what they’re going to say – that she should go on a date with Neal. They keep mum and Snow notes that she’s stubborn and Charming asks who that reminds her of.

Flashback to Snow and Charming on their honeymoon at the Summer Palace. She says she’s glad he talked her into coming there. He goes to untie her cloak and she says not so fast. She says she has something planned for tonight and he asks why not now and she tells him it’s worth the wait. He goes to stable the horses.

Once alone, Snow opens her cloaks and we see she’s in her hunting leathers/fighting gear. She puts on her sword and arrows and hops out a window. She runs into the woods and guess whose waiting for her? Charming! He asks what she’s up to and she asks how he knew. He says she had that look when she’s up to something.

She tells him there’s a fearsome creature nearby – Medusa – that can turn people to stone with a look. He asks how she can get her to look at the Queen. Snow says she wants to cut off her head and bring it back with them. He says there’s no way he’s going to let his wife go do something that dangerous (she makes a face) and he adds – not without him! She hands him a sword. The image freezes into a book plate and it’s obvious this is the story Henry is looking at in the book…

At Granny’s Emma tells Henry that it’s bedtime and tells him to tell Regina goodnight. Regina says it’s going to be hard to let him out of her sight. Henry says he wants to spend the night at Regina’s and Emma agrees (but is not happy) and tells him to call her in the morning to come pick him up. Emma walks back to her parents and they comfort her and say he probably just wants to see his old room.

In Henry’s room, Pan looks at the fairy tale book and an image of Regina’s crypt of magical horrors. Regina comes in and tells him lights out. He asks if she brought the vault over from the old world and she says she did but he knows that. He says he might need the magic in it to protect himself from Pan if he escapes. She says magic is not the answer and that it’s sealed shut. She says she’ll protect him.

Regina tucks him in and kisses his cheek. She tells him goodnight and leaves, turning the light off. Pan is immediately back up and opening the window. He stares out across the town toward he harbor. He says – she’s wrong, magic is the answer. Then he says – it’s time – and his shadow loosens from the Jolly Rodger’s sail and flies across town!

Flashback to Snow and Charming cutting through the forest. She asks if he’s mad and he reminds her they met after she robbed him. He says he knew what he was getting to her. Charming asks if there is a way to reverse the stone curse and they realize the only way is to kill Medusa. Charming reminds her that she stopped Regina’s execution before and he asks why she’s willing to let her be turned to stone.

Snow says this time she threatened the whole kingdom not just then. They find a crypt where Medusa is rumored to live and head in!

Charming tells Snow he never thought Granny’s lasagna could taste so good. Gold slaps a little brown bottle on the table and tells him to wash it down with this. Snow asks what it is and Gold says it’s an elixir to kill him permanently. Charming asks if he owes him anything and Gold says it’s on the house. He reminds him they’re family now and if he needs a favor, hopefully they will be more receptive.

Snow tells him to drink it and he guzzles it all down. She asks how he feels and he reaches across the table to give her a big smooch. He tells her he wants to start on their baby making project but then Snow interrupts and says – Emma didn’t listen to us. She sees Neal waiting for Emma alone. Charming says he has this and leaves.

He finds Emma near the shore and tells her Granny’s is the other way. She asks if Neal sent him and he says he came on his own because he saw Neal waiting there alone. She tells him the problem isn’t Neal – it’s Henry. She says he hasn’t been acting like himself and barely recognized his fairy tale book. Her Dad says Henry went through a lot. She reminds him he also went home with Regina the night before.

Emma says she can’t shake the feeling that something bad is about to happen. Charming tells her you have to look for the moments instead of looking for bad things in the future. She asks if he thinks having lunch with Neal is a good or bad moment. He laughingly asks if he eats with his mouth open. She says she’s not ready and he says have lunch anyway.

Emma asks if he’s pushing her toward Neal because of Hook. Charming tells her he’s not interested in Hook – he tells her he’s a married man and she laughs. He gives her a rides to Granny’s to meet Neal.

And speaking of Hook… He runs right into Tink at Granny’s B&B and asks if she’s okay. He says that Storybrooke can be disorienting. He tells her a drink will help and offers her his flask. She says she knows he’s just trying to get with her to take his mind off Emma. He says Emma who and tells her he only sees her. Tink tells him it’s never going to happen. They hear a scream and run outside.

Emma and Charming hear it too and run into Tink and Hook coming out of the B&B. She asks what the noise was and then asks if the two of them were… Tink is quick to say no but Hook says – perhaps. Emma gives him a look. Charming runs off in the directions of the screams and they follow. Blue is being chased by the shadow! He rips her shadow out of her and she collapses. Charming can’t find a pulse. She’s dead. Tink asks why the shadow would kill her and Hook says he doesn’t know but he does know that the only person the shadow takes orders from is Pan.

Pan sits reading Henry’s fairy tale book when Regina calls Henry’s name and comes in the room. She tells him to come with her because something happens. He gets a sly, evil smile on his face where Regina can’t see…

Flashback to Charming and Snow in the lair of the Gorgon Medusa. They creep along a hallway and she tells him to keep his eyes down. He asks how they can find her and they hear a shriek and the rattling of her tail. He says he’ll draw Medusa out and Snow can finish her. She reminds him not to look in her eyes. He steps out into the hallway and then runs and yells.

He heads back the other way and Medusa comes after him. Snow slices through her neck but her sword dissolves. She says that wasn’t part of the legend. She says maybe they should have stayed in the palace. He finds a metal helmet and throws it. Medusa is distracted but then she gets hold of Snow and drags her back toward her. To save her, Charming grabs a shield and throws it but she deflects it, grabs him and he stares into her eyes! He turns to stone as Snow screams his name.

Now – Snow holds her hands tented in prayer as they wrap up Blue’s body. Regina asks what happened and they tell her it was Pan’s shadow. Regina asks how it got loose from the sail and Emma says it just happened. They conclude it must be Pan. Neal says he’s going back to get the candle and shell to trap the shadow. Tink and Hook go with him. Henry says – Pan can still hurt me.

Regina quickly tries to reassure him but Emma says he’s right and he could be a threat and is after Henry. He asks Regina if she’ll protect him and Emma stares at him with interest. Emma calls Regina back and tells her to keep a close eye on Henry.

She says he’s not been the same lately and Regina asks if she thinks that because he asked for her instead of Emma. She reminds Emma she was his mom for 10 years before she showed up. Emma tells her that it’s not about them and says that Henry is off.

Henry asks Regina where she’s taking him and she says – the one place in Storybrooke the shadow could ever get into. She brings him to her magic crypt! Once inside, she opens the hidden stairs and brings him down. She asks him to promise that he won’t touch anything and he says – I promise – but he has that evil Pan smirk on his face again…

Flashback – Snow promises Charming she won’t leave him and won’t let Medusa scare her away. She hears Regina’s voice ask if she’s enjoying her honeymoon. She asks if she’s cranky because her husband is a statue. Snow tells her this is her fault and she says it’s Snows and that she never imagined she could sit back and let Snow destroy her own happiness. Snow says she’s right. She notices where Regina’s face had appeared magically in the shield there was a reflective spot.

She peels the coating off the shield as Medusa continues to hunt for her. She’s made a giant mirror and holds it out as Medusa attacks. She turns to stone and then Charming is released. He calls her name and she runs to him and they kiss and embrace. She asks if he’s okay. He asks how she defeated Medusa and she says she let her defeat herself. She tells him she knows she was doing that too and asks how she can make it up to him. He tells her he has a few ideas.

Now – the gang runs up as Gold and Belle are closing up shop. Emma demands he give her Pandora’s box. They tell him that opening the box will let them defeat Pan. He says they barely beat him before and she tells him that they should be sure he’s gone for good. They all caravan to the city line. He tells Belle that if he’s released beyond Storybrooke’s city line he’ll be lost.

Emma says she’ll release him since she’s the expert on the outside world. Gold unlocks the box and sets it over the line while Emma holds a gun on him. Pan (what looks like Pan) comes out and looks at Emma holding the gun and says “mom.” Gold tells her to shoot him. Pan begs her not to and says he’s Henry. He says that Pan switched their bodies. He insists he did it right before he went in the box.

Emma says he could be telling the truth. She tells him to prove it. He rattles off a list of things about himself. She says there are moments he can’t know. She asks about the first time they connected – not met – but connected. He tells her they were in his castle and that she said she gave him up to give him his best chance. Emma insists it’s him and they hug. She asks Gold not to incinerate them when they step over the line.

They step over and he hugs his grandparents. Gold says he’s sorry he doubted him and sorry he put him in the box. Henry says he would have done the same thing. Charming asks where Pan is.

He’s in Regina’s crypt looking at all the magical items. She asks what he’s thinking and he says he’s lucky to have her protecting him. She says she’s going to be the mother he always wanted her to be. While they hug, he grabs a bottle off the shelf. She says I love you and he unstoppers it and a vapor comes out and she collapses. He says – I know – that’s why this was so easy.

Flashback – Charming tells her he’s sorry that they didn’t get the tool to defeat Regina. She says she wants to start a family and that’s why she has to stop Regina. She says can’t imagine bringing a child into the world where Regina is a threat. Charming says they’ll find another way to stop her. She says she was wrong and they need to start their family now because there will always be problems. She says we have to look for the good moments between the bad ones. He kisses her and says – a child we shall have.

The gang walks with Henry and Emma says Regina isn’t answering her phone. Henry tells Grandpa Gold that since Pan is still in his body if he has to throw a fireball to try and not hit him in the face. Gold says he’ll try. At the door of the crypt, Neal, Hook and Tink wait. Neal rushes to hug Henry. They ask if the trio found the shadow and Hook holds up the shell and says they’re ready but not yet.

Gold asks why they haven’t gone in and he says it’s locked tight. Gold tries his magic hand at it and nothing happens. He says it’s going to take some time. Emma walks away and Snow comes to tell her it’s going to be okay. She’s frustrated because they are limited in what they can do to Pan since he’s in Henry’s body. She tells them she can’t live for the good moments because she’s the savior and it will never stop.

She says the price of being the savior is that she never gets a day off. Gold opens the doors of the vault finally and says – shall we? They come in and find Regina on the floor but Pan is gone. Gold revives her with magic. She asks what happened and Emma tells her Pan and Henry switched bodies. Regina is horrified that she fell for it – she said she missed all the signs because she wanted to believe so badly what he was saying. She says she wanted to believe he still needed her as his mother and Henry speaks up and says he still does. He hugs Regina.

Neal asks what Pan came down there to get and Gold looks around. He says to Regina – you didn’t keep it here did you and she says – where else would I keep it. Emma asks what Pan took and they realize it was the curse.

At that moment, Pan is unrolling the scroll and showing it to Felix. He explains that it’s the curse that tore everyone from the Enchanted Forest and brought them to Storybrooke. Felix asks he broke him out of jail to tell him that. Pan says he broke him out of jail because it’s going to give them everything they ever wanted.

Regina asks why he would want it and Gold says he could cast he spell again and Gold says without Emma’s parents’ love woven in, there will be no way to break the curse. Snow asks what would happen if he cast it. Pan tells Felix that no one will remember who they are, they would be trapped and time would stand still. Pan says they would be in charge and Felix asks of the whole place and Pan says when they’re done with it, it’ll be the new Neverland.
