Were any of you expecting Prince Harry to get married and pop out babies in the near future? If you were, you’re going to be disappointed. I mean, I don’t think anyone really expected Harry to get married anytime soon, especially with so many years of Vegas partying left in him. But with the recent spate of reports about a possible marriage to girlfriend Cressida Bonas, you couldn’t help but wonder if Harry wasn’t being pressured to start settling down. However, now that the heir’s been bornt to Kate Middleton and Prince William, there’s no more pressure on him, and Harry couldn’t be happier.
Just a brief aside here for readers less familiar with how monarchy works: even though Prince William (and not Prince Harry) is the heir to the throne after Prince Charles, if Will and Kate were unable to have children, then it would fall to Harry to produce William’s heir!
When discussing his new nephew, Prince George, Harry revealed that it was a relief that the ‘pressure was off’ for him to have kids now that the heir’s already been born. Usually, you’d think that the third in line to the throne would be disappointed about having been bumped up to fourth, but that clearly doesn’t apply to Harry. This means that he still has many years of traveling and partying and barhopping left in him before he has to settle down and become all ‘respectable’. In all honestly, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen, but who knows? Will had his own wild phase, and he’s all Kingly and respectable today.
Meanwhile, Harry and Cressida were spotted out with some friends at a music festival a couple of days ago, when the rest of the world was busy focusing on the royal baby. Not only is Harry relieved about the pressure being lifted, but I guarantee that he’s happy to not be the center of attention. He won’t be forced to marry Cressida Bonas, and if he wants, he can date anybody he wants. Well – not really. He’s still a prince.
