According to royal experts, Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas are very, very close to getting engaged – but it apparently won’t happen during the holidays.
The New York Times has an extensive feature on the state of Harry’s relationship with Cressida, including their engagement prospects, and the question of whether they will spend any time together for the holidays. On the topic of them spending the holidays together, all the experts were clear – it won’t happen. The royal correspondent for the Telegraph reportedly confirmed that Cressida was not at Sandringham with the royals, with a source adding, “His Royal Highness knows that it would not be appropriate for Miss Bonas to join the royal family for Christmas until they are a married couple.”
Sources also add that you shouldn’t expect to see an engagement announcement right after the holidays, explaining, “I wouldn’t be expecting a Christmas engagement, but they are very much in love, really serious about each other and spending a lot of time together.”
The rest of the report focuses on Cressida’s possible addition to the royal family, including how well she’ll fit in with the rest of the royals. Coming from quite an aristocratic family herself, it probably won’t be too difficult for her to adjust to the customs and traditions that will be required of her. Also, the sources add that being married to Prince Harry is very different to being married to Prince William, explaining, “Harry doesn’t go for high-maintenance girls. Cressida’s very relaxed. Kate Middleton has to be the way she is: she’s married to the future first in line to the throne. When you’re Harry, you can be a bit naughtier, and Cressida has a freedom that comes with being with Harry.”
Of course, that doesn’t mean that Cressida will have the time she needs to continue pursuing dance as a full-time career. As part of the royal family, giving up on your own career and ambitions is one of the first sacrifices you make, and Cressida won’t be an exception to that. But even then, when Harry does propose, it’s more likely that Cressida will say yes than she will say no. As sources conclude, “Harry’s charm is like a flame thrower, and he is the most eligible bachelor in the world, so it’s hard to resist.”
Yeah, I honestly don’t see Cressida turning down a chance to be Harry’s wife, no matter what she has to give up. Do you guys agree? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
