Prince William's Guard Dogs' Execution Damages Reputation and Infuriates Animal Rights Activists

The report about Prince William‘s guard dogs, Brus and Blade, at the RAF base being put down has gained a lot of traction, and there has been widespread anger and protests among animal rights activists about the way the dogs were treated.

William’s already facing a lot of criticism over the fact that he’s leaving the RAF for one year to work for the Queen in a more ‘royal’ capacity, which many citizens equate to not working at all. After all, whenever William’s not with the RAF, all he and Kate Middleton seem to be doing is taking vacations and spending time at home. Of course, he does have young Prince George and it’s understandable that he wants to spend time with him.

What’s not understandable is the fact that these two dogs were put down mere days after William left the base. According to reports, they were used exclusively for extra protection for William while he was on the base, but they were euthanized mere days after William left. While William might not have known about the plans to put down the dogs, officials claim that the only reason the dogs were put down was because they developed medical issues and were unfit to continue in active duty – and they were apparently also unfit to go to a kennel.

If that’s the case, the real question is – how did these dogs develop these health issues just DAYS after William left the base? If they were fit enough to work as guard dogs and guard a freaking prince, then how did they become liabilities so quickly? This whole thing smells fishy, and it just seems like the military backtracking and making excuses for their actions when they really don’t have any.

Of course, considering that William’s always painted himself as an animal lover and wildlife protector, this is going to do some harm to his image. While nobody claims that William had anything to do with the dogs getting put down, there are people who are upset that he didn’t do anything to stop it.

What do you guys think? Should William’s image be affected by the dogs being put down? Or should he not have to take any responsibility, considering it was not his decision and he didn’t know about it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
