2013 was not a good year for Robsten. After Kristen Stewart was caught cheating with Director Rupert Sanders in 2012, she and Robert Pattinson tried to make it work but by May they called it quits. Most likely Rob found that forgiving and forgetting is easier said than done – and broken trust cracks the foundation of a relationship.
Rob spent the later part of the 2013 partying and romancing Dylan Penn – although Dylan recently told GQ Magazine that rumors of her ever dating Rob are “bullsh**.” Whatever that was between Dylan and Rob it was short lived because by October Rob and Kristen were spotted having some alone time together at his house.
Rob is currently in London for the Holidays and it is said he invited Kristen to be with him but she turned him down because apparently his sisters are still upset with her for hurting him and she did not want to create drama for him. A source told Hollywood Life, “Kristen would love to see Rob in London but she doesn’t want to be the source of any tension between Rob and his sisters,” the source also said that Kristen, “feels like she’s on good terms with Rob’s mom after all the cheating drama.”
On one hand we have sources alluding to Kristen and Rob being that much closer to reconciliation, and the other hand there was a source that told E! News that reconciliation is, “highly unlikely.” So which is the truth? Only time will tell but what we do know is that both Rob and Kristen are private people, so if they do officially reconcile we will know when they want us to know.
What also seems true is that these two shared a great love and are having a hard time staying away from each other, and the holidays are sure to highlight their lingering feelings.
Many people find that when the reality of their current holiday situation hits them so does the loneliness, sadness, regrets, and memories of holidays past. Rob and Kristen seemed to have been on the path to marriage so there is no doubt – although miles away from each other – the holidays they once shared will be front and center in their minds.
No, 2013 was not a good year for Robsten, but it wasn’t all bad either. They went from being completely broken to taking baby steps to a possible place of healing and reconciliation. It will be interesting to see what 2014 has in store for these two, because there is no time like the New Year for a new start on a clean slate.
