Teen Wolf RECAP 6/3/13: Season 3 Premiere “Tattoo”

Teen Wolf RECAP 6/3/13: Season 3 Premiere “Tattoo”

Finally MTV’s popular television show TEEN WOLF returns tonight with its third season premiere.  Tonight’s season premiere is called, “Tattoo” and it will pick up four months after the events that nearly ended Jackson’s life and resurrected Peter Hale’s.  Did you watch last season’s finale?  If you want to catch up, you can read our full and detailed recap here!

On the last seasons finale it tied up a lot of loose ends but also left many ends still unraveled and unwound.  The numerous questions the episode raised already has us biting our extremely long werewolf nails and fearing for the future of our fave Beacon Hills monster-fighting gang.  By the time the final credits rolled, we know most of you were in a state of terror. Not because the kanima’s face scared you half to death but because the episode, right after “resolving” the major conflict of the season, set us up for future narratives that we want to jump into RIGHT NOW! We can’t help but wonder.

On tonight’s season 3 premiere, the show picks up four months after where we left off. Teen werewolf Scott McCall and his friends Stiles, Lydia and Allison begin their Junior year of high school unaware that a new threat has arrived in Beacon Hills: a deadly pack of Alpha werewolves intent on bringing Derek into their fold.  This new pack is going to be an all new cast of actors, and executive producer Jeff Davis, while he didn’t reveal much, said that there will be a set of twins in the pack. Girls? Guys? Not sure, but that should be an interesting element.

Tonight’s season premiere is going to be an exciting one that you won’t want to miss, so be sure to tune in for our live coverage of MTV’s Teen Wolf tonight at 10 PM EST! LIVE recap starts now!

The show opens with someone dragging a body. Someone’s shirt is ripped open. Using jumper cables, someone shocks the guy’s chest. The character looks like Isaac. Isaac was attacked by someone, and the person who saved him is some girl. Two people attack them. Two werewolves. The new werewolf twins. And this motorcycle chase comes to an end. They turn into an alleyway. Dead end. The twins are approaching. They dodge the twins by breaking through an industrial window. Isaac quickly loses consciousness from the scratch, which seems to have some type of influence over his memories (a new werewolf power of some sort).

The twins approach a fallen Isaac. What happens next is super creepy/freaking cool. One of the twins reaches into the other twin and they sort of congeal together, creating this super werewolf. Can someone say badass? The girl that rescued Isaac shoots them with an electric charge. They fry a bit and separate.

Next, we’re taken to a tattoo shop. Scott’s getting a tattoo. Stiles questions Scott’s motives for getting a tattoo.Scott gets the tattoo but when he gets in the car to go home the tattoo immediately heals. Woops. #Werewolf problems.

Allison and Lydia are driving in the car. They talk girl talk. On the way home Stiles and Scott happen to pull up beside Lydia and Allison’s car. Scott thought she wouldn’t be in town, but she is. Stiles tries to break the ice, but Lydia drives Allison away immediately. Up ahead, a giant buck runs into their car. Scott and Stiles jump out to their rescue to see if they’re all right. Everyone is shaken up.

Meanwhile, Isaac is taken to the emergency room. So is the girl who saved him. She says she needs to find the Alpha. Scott’s mother is there. She says, “why do you need Derek?” She whispers as she rolls away: Scott. I need Scott McCall.

Allison has a moment with her dad. She’s still obviously shaken up about her mother’s death. She decides to go to school.

Stiles is already on a mission trying to find out why that deer charged into their car. Stiles’ dad makes him go to school. Ugh. School.

Lydia is seen getting all fancied up for school. There’s a guy in her bed as she leaves.

Everyone arrives at school, and Lydia, now single, is admiring all the new boys at school. She says she needs a distraction. Que twin werewolves. They enter the school, walking like they own the place. The girl who saved Isaac wakes up in her hospital bed. In a panic.

Isaac is in the hospital with Melissa, Scott’s Mom. Isaac wakes up and he needs help–to figure out what went down. He asks Scott’s mom to call Scott because Derek is unavailable off looking for members of his pack, who went missing at the end of last season.

Everyone is in school. They have a new English teacher, and she seems a bit shady.

A girl sneaks into Isaac’s room and gives him a drug to knock him out. We find out she’s a werewolf. Prob an Alpha. Her name is Kali.

Allison passes Scott a note. It says: Can we talk?

Scott is pulled from class because his Mother called to get him out. Stiles notices a bite mark on Lydia’s leg. She says her dog, Prada, bit her earlier. Meanwhile, a bird hits the window. Then a whole flock of birds fly toward the window. They break through. The animals in the town appear to be growing CRAZY! The room is in shambles after the attack.

Scott arrives at the hospital. He admits that he’s trying to change: he wants to be a better student, friend, son, the whole shebang.

Isaac is in surgery. Scott walks into an elevator. A blind man stops him before the doors shut. The blind man asks Scott to help him out of the elevator. The doctors go to operate on Isaac, but he’s already healed. A werewolf, disguised as a nurse, wheels him out and puts him in a wheelchair.

Scott storms through the hospital looking for Isaac. He sees the werewolf enter the elevator with Isaac. He makes it just in time. They have a fight in the elevator. Derek, somehow, rushes in to save the day. After stabbing the Alpha in the back and tossing him down the hallway, he says to Scott, “Aren’t you supposed to be in school.”

Meanwhile, everyone who was attacked by the birds are a mess. The teacher, Ms. Blake, is really shaken up. Stiles asks if she’s okay. Allison’s father comes in to inspect the situation. Stiles father asks Mr. Argent if he’s ever seen animal behavior like this before. He says no, he’s done being a hunter.

Scott and Derek take Isaac back to Derek’s house. Derek gets supplies to heal the Alpha bite Isaac sustained. Derek tells Scott to go back to school and be a teenager. That this rival pack is his business.

Stiles’ dad talks with Dr. Deaton. He doesn’t know what is going on, but he leads him into the back room. All the animals in the kennels have killed themselves. Bizarre.

Scott wants Derek to make his tattoo to stay. Derek says it’s going to hurt like nothing he’s ever experienced before. He takes a blow torch to the spot of flesh where his tattoo healed. Um. Ouch.

Scott wakes up suddenly, and we see that his tattoo stayed. It worked.

The girl who saved Isaac runs into Lydia and Allison; she asks WHERE IS SCOTT MCCALL! They say she doesn’t know. She notices the werewolf twins at the end of the hallway. She grabs onto Lydia and Allison’s wrists; she runs away, leaving bruises on their arms from where she grabbed. on the motorcycle sneaks into the locker room to get away from the twins. She has a broom handle. The pack of Alphas come in for her. Not good.

Derek tells Scott there are a pack of alphas. He says there’s some sort of leader — it was the blind man that Scott ran into in the elevator. Isaac wakes up and asks where the girl’s that.

Meanwhile, the girl has an encounter with the Alpha leader. She tells him that he’s afraid of a certain someone: Scott McCall.

Earlier in the episode, the girl who saved Isaac had a run in with Allison and Lydia. The bruises she gave them, when put together, formed some sort of mark. And we’re given a final scene of two people, sitting in a special room with that same mark upon the floor.

Stay tuned. Come back next week for more crazy supernaturalness!
