Teen Wolf RECAP 7/8/13: Season 3 Episode 6 “Motel California”

Teen Wolf RECAP 7/8/13: Season 3 Episode 6 “Motel California”

Tonight on MTV, the popular show TEEN WOLF continues with its forth episode of the third season called, “Motel California.” On tonight’s show, the group starts to believe members of their own group may be the mysterious killer’s newest targets.  Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it here for you.

On last week’s show, Deucalion was ready to test Scott and see what he was made of.  He had Derek on the floor, Deucalion took the opportunity to both explain why he had a pack of alphas, how a pack of alphas can even exist, and just how and why he’s taken an interest in the Hale family. It went  from pretty interesting to really over-the-top.

On tonight’s show Scott and the gang undergo strange experiences when they are stranded at a motel, causing them to believe members of their own group may be the mysterious killer’s newest targets.

Tonight’s season 3 episode 6 is going to be an exciting one that you won’t want to miss, so be sure to tune in for our live coverage of MTV’s Teen Wolf at 10 PM EST! While you wait for our recap hit the comments and let us know what you think of Teen Wolf season 3 this year. Check out the sneak peek video of tonight’s show below while you wait for the recap!

Recap Begins Now:

The show opens with a car driving down a highway; the truck pulls into a Motel parking lot. A guy gets out of the car; he’s limping and has a bloody hand. We see a newspaper stand; the headline reads 1977. The guy who got out of the truck lifts up his shirt to reveal a werewolf bite. He opens the window and sees a full moon. He pulls a gun to his head and shoots.

We return to modern day. The school bus pulls up to the same hotel — perhaps containing a haunted past. When they unload the bus, Lydia immediately has a bad feeling. She says, “I don’t like this place.” Allison says, “Nothing’s going to happen tonight.” Lydia says, “A lot can happen in one night.”

Stiles and Scott room together in the motel room. Stiles brainstorms his lists of suspects — the one who’s killing people. He suspects many people, one of which is Lydia.

Ms. Blake assists Derek, who says, “No hospitals.”

Meanwhile, Allison’s father returns to the scene of the epic battle we saw last episode. He’s snooping around, trying to figure out what’s up.

Scott looks at himself in the mirror; his eye flashes red. Yikes.

Allison is in the shower. She asks for Lydia, but she’s not there. Scott creeps into her room. He’s not acting his self — he almost acts possessed. He finally snaps out of it, says he can’t remember why he’s there.

Lydia walks down to the motel office to ask for more towels from the owner. Lydia notices a number in the corner of the office: “198.” She asks what the number means. The hotel owner gives her the morbid detail: The number records how many suicides have occurred in the motel rooms. Before the commercial break, we see Isaac in a trancelike state, much like the one Scott experienced.

Allison’s on the phone with her father, who’s still at the scene of the fight. Mr. Argent feels like he’s heard of that hotel room before and offers to come pick them up, but she says not to worry.

Meanwhile, Ms. Blake is caring for Derek.

Back at the motel, Lydia tells Allison about the suicides. Lydia hears a voice — she’s basically having a vision of a past suicide that occurred in the room next to hers. Allison didn’t hear the voice. Thinking the thing was real, she investigates the next room, which appears empty. When they walk into the room, there’s construction work, looks like a recovering crime scene.

Boyd heads to the ice machine to get a barrel of ice. He also hears a voice. He sees someone in the ice chest and freaks out.

Isaac wakes up and asks for Boyd. He starts to hear weird voices too — just like Lydia and Boyd. Everyone is having these visions. Isaac hears his father, who abused him when he was a child. Lydia and Allison walk down to the front desk again. The sign  that once said 198 now says 201. Lydia says that she knows what she saw before . . . . are 3 more suicides in the works?

A phone rings. Scott answers it. His mom is on the other line. She’s hysterical. She says to look out the window. His mom is outside with Deucalion. He rips her throat out; but everything is a vision. Stiles snaps him out of it.

Meanwhile, Danny and one of the twins are making out in their hotel rooms. They talk about their scars. He has this weird reaction; he runs into the bathroom; A face pushes out of his stomach and he runs out of the room.

Stiles, Lydia, and Allison talk about what’s happening. They think that three werewolves are about to die. Isaac, Boyd, and Scott. There’s a hand saw. Ethan — one of the twins — is trying to open up his stomach, to get that thing out that he saw. He’s in a trance. Stiles and Lydia and Allison save him; he runs out of the room.

Ms. Blake and Derek talk. She says, “Maybe you should use the fact that everyone thinks your dead to your advantage.” Derek says no, that they need to know he’s alive.

Before the commercial break, Stiles says to Lydia that we’ve all kind of been through this before: the night of her birthday party, when she attempted to poison everyone with wolfsbane. Is she behind all the chaos?

Boyd is sitting up in his bed and the radio keeps turning on; he hears voices. There’s a small boy talking about Alicia, probably his sister, who apparently died in an ice skating accident — drowned I think. The hallucination makes him angry.

Ms. Blake asks how she’s supposed to fix Derek when he has no bandages in his house. He says that she shouldn’t be here because she doesn’t know anything about him. She says, “Maybe I have a good feeling about you.” He says that she shouldn’t and that everyone he’s ever been close to ends up getting hurt. She proceeds to kiss him. He’s practically dead, but they manage to start a hot and heavy make out session.

Back at the hotel, someone walks into the motel lobby. It’s Boyd. He sees a safe. Allison notices the open door to Scott’s room. She asks if he’s in there. Stiles is walking with Lydia, who begins to hear more voices, this time coming from a grate in the parking lot. She hears a baby crying and water running; meanwhile, Boyd’s drowning. Lydia exclaims, “Someone’s drowning!”

Lydia and Stiles run into Boyd’s room, where Boyd’s drowning in the bathtub; he doesn’t look so good. Stiles burns himself on a heater. He has a thought: heat will snap Boyd out of his unconscious state. Smarty pants Lydia says that the bus should have flares — and those can stay lit under water. Stiles sticks the flare in the water and burns him. Boyd snaps out of it and gets out of the water. Isaac is under the bed — in a trance. Stiles burns him with the flare.

They run to find Scott. He’s standing in puddle of gasoline holding a flare.

Scott says there’s no hope. Allison says there’s always hope. Scott says not for me and not for Derek — who proceeds to make out with Ms. Blake. While Ms. Blake kisses him, Derek’s wounds start to heal.

Stiles gives Scott a pep talk. He tells him that he’s his best friend — his brother — and that he needs him. Stiles steps onto the puddle of gasoline and inches his way towards Scottt. He grabs the flare, though it rolls back to the gas. Allison and Lydia push the boys out of the way just in time. There’s an explosion. Lydia sees a dark figure in the flames.

On the bus, Ethan says that, because he thinks he and his friends saved him last night, he will give Scott a piece of information: They think Derek’s still alive. But that means one of two things, especially because Derek killed one of their own: Derek must join their pack or they’ll hunt him down to make him pay for his crimes.

Lydia asks the coach for his whistle. She blows it into her hand. Wolfsbane was in the whistle and every time the coach blew it on the bus, the particles would enter the werewolves, thus weakening them and making them prone to the dark druid’s psychological attacks.

Mr. Argent visits *SURRRRPRRRIIIIIISSE* Allison’s grandfather, who seems to be alive and *sort of* well. He’s in a wheelchair. Mr. Argent says that many years ago there was a person who checked into that same motel. The person was an Argent and, like we saw in the beginning of the episode, he blew his brains out — because he was bitten by a werewolf. Mr. Argent wants to know who bit him.

DEUCALION bit him.

That’s it! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the gang next week. Lydia’s story is getting quite intense, and we can’t wait to see what she is — if she even does have any supernatural powers. Because she seems to be able to predict death — those abilities growing each and every episode — perhaps she’s what’s known as a Banshee, which is a supernatural being in literature that foretells and predicts death, oftentimes with a dangerous scream. She’s screamed numerous times, most of which precede death. And this episode we saw her inexplicably linked to Boyd’s death — or near death — experience, as well as others. Upon arriving at the motel, she immediately was hit with an ominous feeling.

And Grandpa Argent’s return can only mean there’s a bunch of hell in store for everyone.
