The Bachelorette 2013 Desiree Hartsock Episode 6 RECAP 7/1/13

The Bachelorette 2013 Desiree Hartsock Episode 6 RECAP 7/1/13

Tonight on ABC THE BACHELORETTE Desiree Hartsock returns as she continues her search to find her Prince Charming. On this week’s episode Desiree’s European trip is clouded with mystery and mistrust as the men clash in their attempt to reveal James’ secret and no one is safe. Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it for you.

On last week’s show Desiree had never traveled to Europe before, and the 11 remaining men hoped to make this first leg of the international tour to find love a special one, starting in Munich. Chris got to explore this culturally rich city with Desiree, but their romantic date came to a crashing halt when another man interrupted them with shocking news. The Bachelorette took seven guys to the German Alps, where not only did they enjoy their majestic beauty, but yodel, sled and frolic like kids in the snow. The competition between James and front-runner Brooks turned ugly, while other bachelors made their play for Desiree.  By the end of the show only eight men remained to travel to the magnificent city of Barcelona.

On tonight’s show Desiree flies her eight remaining men to the cultural and romantic hotspot of Barcelona. Drew and Kasey, however, share the burden of a terrible secret concerning James, who they feel is not there for the “right reasons.” The guys are intent on making sure that Desiree learns the devastating truth about this man, but when will it be the right time to tell her? Meanwhile, Drew has his own romantic and emotional one-on-one date with the Bachelorette. The group date features a face-off between six pumped up bachelors and an all-female professional soccer team. But buckle up – the after party features one the most visceral, ferocious fights in “Bachelorette” history. And when Desiree finally confronts James, she drops a bombshell. Zak helps to take Desiree’s mind off the drama with a revealing one-one-one date that ups the romance. But the tension is unbearable as the rose ceremony nears and no man feels safe. Who will survive to travel to the exotic island of Madeira?

Tonight’s episode is going to be an thrilling and one that you won’t want to miss, so be sure to tune in for our live coverage ABC’s The Bachelorette tonight at 8 PM EST!  While you wait for our recap hit the comments let us know what you think of The Bachelorette – Desiree Hartsock,  so far!

Recap: Chris goes to see the guys who are still in Barcelona, Spain and tells them they better make all their time worth it with Desiree because their is no Cocktail Party. The first date card arrives and Drew is the lucky guy that gets a 1-on-1 date. Drew starts talking about his father who is his hero, he is a recovering alcoholic and has cancer. Desiree feels closer to Drew after he opens up to him; she liked his depth. Drew takes his chance and gives Desiree one hot kiss and she loved it, in fact it was so incredible that she wished it would last forever.

Desiree gives Drew the rose, after he accepts it he tells her that he overheard a conversation with James who said that if he makes into the top 4, it will give him enough exposure to change his life. Desiree is really disappointed with James, she thought he was really being honest with her. Personally I think this is what happens when you give us viewers one of the least attractive Bachelorette’s in history.

The next day, Drew shares with Kasey that he told Desiree the truth about James. Six guys; Kasey, Chris, Michael, Juan Pablo, James, Brooks,  are heading on a group date with Desiree, one of them is James. The group heads to a soccer stadium and the one person that has the opportunity to shine is Juan Pablo as he has played professional soccer before.

Desiree announces to the men that they will be playing soccer against her team, which is a professional girl’s soccer team, Brooks says they are ready to bake cookies with them. It doesn’t take long for the women to take control of the game, Juan Pablo thinks they are in trouble.

It’s evening, everyone is sitting around enjoying some drinks and Desiree takes Chris aside, she wants to show him her room. Desiree tells him that he looked great on the field, really athletic. Chris admits that he had a good time, he is laying on the bed with Desiree, she wrote a poem for him.

Drew and Kasey confront James about his comment to Mikey saying that if he made the final four it would be good for his exposure. James says that he didn’t start the conversation and doesn’t think he should therefore be blamed. Michael starts to get into the conversation because he has never been on a 1-on-1 date and says he would never treat Desiree like that. Kasey says that James sounded like he was auditioning for the Jersey Shore. James is pissed, he says he didn’t start the conversation with Mikey and therefore doesn’t think he should be blamed for everything.

Brooks gets some alone time with Desiree and just gets lost in her. It’s Kasey’s turn to spend time with Desiree, he tells her the same thing about James and Desiree is so disgusted by the whole thing.

Desiree walks in and asks James if she can speak to him alone. She then tells all the guys that she is not handing out a rose because there are other things that she needs to do. During their conversation, James does what anyone would do in his situation, deny, deny, deny. what a wuss, James is crying… now Desiree is crying and he is still denying everything. Desiree decides that it would be good if the two of them waited until morning to decide what they want to do about the whole thing. James on the other hand leaves the conversation confident that he is going nowhere.

Zak gets the next 1-on-1 date and he and Desiree head to a studio to show off their expressiveness with art as they draw pictures. Zak is happy that they are both enjoying themselves, especially after all the drama the day before with James. All of a sudden a male model walks in and disrobes, Zak is so embarrassed that the guy is completely naked and tries to make the best of it. Zak leaves the room and comes back in a robe, he tells her that he wanted to give her one last shot ant a live model; he takes off the robe, but he has his underwear on. Later in the evening, Zak takes the opportunity to kiss Desiree; it wins him a rose.

Meanwhile, James confront Drew who tells him that he does not think his conversation with Mikey was inappropriate. Basically the men think James is evil and toxic and want to protect Desiree from him.

The next day, Desiree knows on the door and surprises the guys, she wants to speak to James. During their conversation, the two talk and cry; the outcome is that she is in his arms and some of the other guys are watching in. Desiree doesn’t let James go, she decides she just needs more time to think about what she is going to do.

James returns to the men and they all start getting into another argument.

Desiree might have a mutiny on her hands if she doesn’t make the right decision, there is going to be a lot of tension. Meanwhile, Desiree appears to be falling for James’ tears, just how far is she going to fall?

Three guys get the boot tonight; Kasey, Juan Pablo and yes, even James.

One thing is now obvious and official. After the Munich and Barcelona episodes the cat is finally out of the bag. Desiree may be a basically good person; but she is definitely not what she’s been advertised to be … a devout born-again Christian with strong convictions and high standards.

For those of you not wise to the ways of German beer: The average alcohol content of German beer is 18%. The standard 12 oz. can of American beer is 6.5%. You do the math. In Munich, Des took on a half-gallon of local brew and never even blinked. Having a glass of wine at the cocktail party before the weekly Rose Ceremony is one thing … what she did in Munich is a horse of a totally different color.

Then during the Barcelona episode, Des had to be “bleeped” out several times to edit out bad language. And it’s not the first time she’s let her tongue slip. I caught a slip the very first night; after greeting one of the men she looked at the camera and blurted a loud and clear “Damn!”

I have not been completely comfortable with her since the season started. Now I have no doubts at all. Despite anything you hear to the contrary, Desiree is the stereo-typical California fun-in-the-sun Bikini Beach girl and is
definitely into the Hollywood lifestyle. I would describe her as being 27 going on 16, with the maturity of a sophomore.
