RECAP: Our coaches brought back their advisers to help their teams. But first, we get a special performance by Maroon 5 singing “Love Somebody”. This week Adam wants everyone to their best and do inspiring performances. Shakira brought Cee Lo Green to help her team, he helped her come up with a very interesting approach for one of her artists. Usher thinks tonight is about the good and the bad, it could be over in a moment’s time, they need to make the best of it. Blake explains that his family is going through hell because of tornadoes in his home state of Oklahoma. Blake says that he thinks his team has an edge because they are all country music singers.

Blake invited Sheryl Crow back to mentor his team, Holly Tucker is first and she needs to focus one hundred percent on who she is. Sheryl teaches Holly how to center herself and be confident on stage. Holly will be singing an old country gospel classic, “How Great Thou Art”. Usher thought it was an incredible statement to make and there is no bad way to perform a religious song, however this was a different shift and a departure of what he expected from her vocally. Shakira thought it was heavenly and she moved her. Adam loves seeing a performance like this, the pristine and quality of her voice. Blake though the song was strangely appropriate and he has never heard her sing this strong before.

Adam has brought in Hillary Scott to mentor his team and Judith Hill is first. Judith is singing Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” and it is so hard for her because she knew him. Adam supports her and knows she can do it. Blake says it is always good to see her sing and this worked. Usher has always been an incredible fan of Michael Jackson and he misses him so much. Adam told Judith if she did this that people would accept it and know that she was celebrating someone that she loved and respected.

Team Blake is up next with The Swon Brothers and they as well are being mentored by Sheryl Crow. The brothers are singing “How Country Feels” by Randy Houser, Sheryl is a very diverse musician and she helps the brothers do everything they can do to be their best. Shakira thought they did very well. Usher loved their song choice and always loves what they sing. Blake was proud of them and thought they did a great job.

Team Adam is next with Amber Carrington, she is singing “Break Away” by Kelly Clarkson. Hillary loves Amber’s song choice and thinks she can really do well this week. Blake thinks Amber looks great in wind, it was a good call doing a Kelly Clarkson song, it was a good choice. Usher really enjoyed it and was blown away, the theatrics had nothing to do with Amber’s talent. Shakira thinks the song was perfect and she was great as always. Adam thinks Amber has an incredible voice and this ability to do different styles.

Team Shakira’s Sasha Allen is next, she is singing “Next To Me” and it has a lot of soul to it. Shakira thinks the song is right up Sasha’s alley, so does Cee Lo Green who this to help mentor her. Adam thought it was great, he is happy she did this song, it was a really fantastic job. Blake thinks it was time for Sasha to come out and be up tempo. Usher loved her versatility and he loved that she had fun. Shakira is so happy, first she thinks Sasha looks fabulous and second she loved that Sasha showed her versatility.

Team Usher is up next with Josiah Hawley and he is super grateful to be sitting with Usher and Pharrell Williams. Josiah is singing “Clocks” by Cold Play, Usher thinks this is Josiah’s moment. Shakira thinks he did a great job, this is a tough one though, when it comes to Cold Play they have such a distinguishing sound, it’s almost like mission impossible but she feels that Josiah did a good attempt. Adam felt like there some beastly moments that Josiah had a hard time to tackle. Blake thinks Josiah set the bar high last week and this song had a lot of holes in it. Usher doesn’t agree with the other judges, he thinks it is good to take constructive criticism and eventually people will get it. Furthermore, he thinks that Josiah has a great personality and a good voice.

Team Blake’s Danielle Bradbery is next and she is singing “Heads Carolina, Tails California” by Jo Dee Messina. Sheryl tells Danielle to really pay attention and do good with this song. Usher would go to Carolina or California with Danielle, he thinks she made country cool and is happy where Blake went with her. Adam thinks it is crazy, Danielle is such a superstar and every sixteen year old’s dream, it’s astonishing. Blake could go on and on about Danielle, she is amazing, the performance was carefree and she solidly delivered.

Team Shakira’s Kris Thomas is the only male R&B singer left and he will be singing “Adorn” by Miguel. Kris is shocked that Cee Lo is there to mentor him and loves the fact that Cee Lo who is such a ladies man is showing him how to be charismatic. Adam thinks Kris did a great job and has a fantastic job, although he wants him to think less and have more fun. Usher agrees that Kris was thinking a lot and he thinks he could have chosen a better song. Shakira thought the song was perfect for Kris, he might be a little nervous but give him a break.

Team Adam’s Sarah Simmons is next and she is singing “Momma Knows Best” by Jessee J. It’s a bluesy sassy song and Adam thinks the biggest thing is that she needs to exercise control. Sarah says that she has had some men in the past that didn’t treat her well and she can bring that out in the song. Blake that that was just rock, Sarah radiated sexy and turned a corner musically. Usher thinks if you got it, you got it and he is eager to hear Adam praise Sarah because she deserves it. Adam is fanning himself, he thinks Sarah is so awesome and loves hearing Blake wet his pants – just when he thinks he knows what Sarah does, she flips it, it is the performance of the night.

Closing out the night is Team Usher’s Michelle Chamuel “Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink, Usher wanted to giver her an emotional song that could show her range. Pharrell tells Michelle that he has been doing this for twenty years and he knows genius when he sees it. Adam is a fan of Michelle, he says she takes the competition away. Blake loves how dramatic Michelle is when she performs, it is amazing. Usher thinks this was the performance of the night.

The End!
