It’s been hard on Jill’s parents with her wedding fastly coming up. She’s the first Duggar daughter to get married and her father for one is already getting teary eyed at the idea of her moving out.

But the one thing he can count on is that he knows he’s giving her away to a good young man. Derrick has often reminded Michelle of Jim Bob when he was younger. So she’s not worried. And Jim Bob has come to love Derrick like his own son.

All through their pre-marriage counseling, Derrick has always surprised Jim Bob by having a good head on his shoulders. Derrick has heard about Jim Bob and Michelle having financial difficulties during the early days of their marriage and so he has reassured Jim Bob that what happened to them isn’t going to happen with him and Jill. He knows not to rely on credit cards and seems to honestly be thinking about he and Jill’s future.

Later when the young couple needed furniture for their new home, Derrick was unable to go shopping. Nevertheless he knew Jill was going to pick something he liked as well so he trusted in her judgment. And because she took her dad with her – not only did she get what she wanted but she also got most of it at a great deal.

Her dad had taken her to an auction and so she was able to furnish her new albeit temporary home without blowing the budget. Then her family all came over and helped put the furniture in place.

With the house in order and her family flying in from out of state – Jill was pretty much waiting on the wedding seeing as she thought that was the only thing left. However her siblings had one more surprise in store for her. They wanted reenact their sister’s proposal and this time (unlike the time with Josh) the younger kids got to take part.

Plus they rerecorded it!

Josh, Anna, and their family were the first guests to arrive. And as Jill’s big brother, Josh decided to take on the responsibility of finding the getaway car. He wanted to rent a car but because their family had such a good reputation – they were automatically lent a car for free. Which is both a good and bad thing.

Getaway cars tend to get trashed as part of a wedding custom and Josh was really looking forward to doing that to someone else for once. Especially as last time when it was his wedding – his siblings had all done it to him. But, with a car being a friendly loan, he’s going to have to tell his siblings they can’t get out of hand this time.

In other news, a friend of Jill’s offered to do the bridal party’s nails. So everyone got to choose what style they wanted. Though Michelle couldn’t pick between all of them and ended up getting a different design of each nail.

And while it seems trivial, the ladies’ stop at the salon was kind of very important to Jill. She realized she wouldn’t get any more opportunities to do things with her family as a Duggar. Hence the leading up to the wedding took on a great deal of significance.

Jill was packing up and soon she was going to have to move out of the bedroom she’s been sharing with her sisters for now!

THE END!
