24: Live Another Day airs tonight with a new episode called, “Day 9: 6:00 PM-7:00 PM.” On tonight’s episode Jack and President Heller put themselves through hell in order to stop Margot Al-Harazi from going through with any more attacks; at the same time, Kate takes drastic measures to find Margot’s hideout, while Jordan finds himself in a life-or-death situation.
On last week’s episode, following an intense and deadly shootout, Jack and Kate were in a race against time to save the life of a key player tied to the imminent terror threat. Meanwhile, Jordan Reed was ordered into the field on a perilous mission. Then, after President Heller engaged Margot to end her savage attacks, he faced an unthinkable, game-changing decision. On tonight’s episode, Jack Bauer and President Heller endure the unthinkable to thwart the terror attacks of mastermind Margot Al-Harazi (guest star Michelle Fairley). Meanwhile, CIA agent Jordan Reed faces a life-or-death struggle and Kate takes drastic measures to track down Margot before it’s too late.

RECAP:
It’s 6 pm in London. Simone is not doing well and they are treating her at the CIA med facility but she’s in critical condition with swelling of the brain. The doctor says they have to put her in a coma and Navarro says they have to talk to her. He asks him to wake her after they drill the hole in her head. Ian and the other terrorists pack up to leave. He tells Margot they have to leave and she says Heller called her. She says they have to assume that Simone is alive and may betray them.
Margot says that Heller will surrender if they will destroy the drones and Ian says it’s a lie or a trick. She says she never thought he would turn himself over. Ian wants to press on with the plan and Margot says if a murderer like Heller can keep her word, so can she. Ian takes the device and gets into the car with his mother. They leave the estate where they were holed up.
Jack waits for Heller and Kate calls to tell him the doctor wants to put Simone in a coma. He says they should wake and if she dies, too bad. A secret service agent raises an eyebrow at his statement. Navarro gets his secure phone and calls the assassin.
He says he wounded Jordan but isn’t sure he’s dead. HE tells the man to make sure that Jordan is dead and hangs up. The killer scans the marina for signs of Jordan and then sees a trail of blood drops near a gate. Jordan hobbles away as fast as he can. He sees that his phone is toast and tries to muscle on.
Jack is admitted to see Heller and he tells the President that it’s not looking good. He tells Jack he was the only one who even got close to catching Margot. He says he has another task for Jack that he won’t like. Heller says that he just spoke directly to Margot. He shows him a video recording of the call where he promised to give himself to her if she destroys the drones and dumps them in the water in Dover.
He tells her to show that she doesn’t want to take innocent lives by taking his instead. He tells her to swear on the soul of her husband and she says she will as soon as he’s dead. He’s to meet her at Wembley Stadium. Heller says the US doesn’t negotiate with terrorists and Heller says it’s not a policy letter, it’s a personal one since he’s resigning before he goes to meet her at 7 pm. Jack asks what if Margot doesn’t keep her word and Heller says that will make her a liar and a hypocrite in the eyes of the world.
Jack wants to keep working toward a solution and tells him no. Heller comes clean and tells him that he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and a year from now, he won’t know anyone in the room. He says he’ll be forced to retire long before them. Jack says this is not just about him. Heller rails and says it’s not just about him – it’s about the trail of bodies that she’ll leave wherever she goes. Heller asks Jack what he would do in his position.
Heller says that he and Jack are the only chance they have to save these lives. Jack asks what he wants him to do. Heller says to sneak him to the stadium in complete secrecy. Jack asks if he’s told Audrey and Heller says no. Jack thinks and says that he needs one more person on the inside he can trust to get him past Secret Service and British Security. Heller says to give him a minute. It’s 6:09 pm.
At 6:13 pm, Heller goes to talk to Mark. He says that Margot won’t keep her word but Heller says it’s personal and she’s angry at him alone and that he truly thinks she’ll stop if she gets him. Heller tells Mark not to deny him this last service and Mark says he’d be facilitating his death and Heller asks if he’s with him or not. Mark sighs. Heller says he wrote a letter to the VP for him to deliver once he’s dead. He says the transition should be smooth and he thinks that he’ll keep Mark on.
Kate calls Jack and she says Simone is the same. He tells her to push the doctor hard and tells her things have changed. He makes her give her word and then says Heller will sacrifice himself to Margot if they can’t stop this. He tells her to wake the bitch up. Kate slams into the room and tells the doctor to wake her up now. The doc tells her to leave and Kate pulls a gun on him. He says if she dies it’s on your hands but Kate doesn’t care.
He shoots Simone up with adrenaline and she comes to gasping. She tells him to step away. Kate asks if she can hear her. Simone nods yes. Kate tells her that her mother tried to kill her with a drone strike. She says there are thousands of people she can save if she will tell them where her mother is. Kate says she knows about betrayal but says she can save innocent lives – lives just like Yasmin. She begs her.
Simone gives the address in Hampton and says she won’t be there but she doesn’t know where she will have gone. She begs Simone for anything else and Simone says Naveed had a disc under the floorboard upstairs that might help them get into the drone system. Simone starts crashing and Kate calls in a tac team strike on the address and says she’ll brief them once they’re underway.
Heller brings in Mark and tells he and Jack to put aside their differences to help him. Heller tells Jack to let him know when he has a plan. It’s 6:18 pm. Mark says they need to find a way to trust one another and says to tell him what he needs. Jack tells him to clear the hallways and get him the US and British security detail information.
Mark says he’ll call a meeting and Jack says he needs gate codes and a car and will let him know of anything else he can think of. Mark tells Jack that Audrey will never forgive him for this. Jack says nothing. Kate calls and says that Simone gave them the location of a disc that may help and he tells her to upload it to Chloe as soon as she has it.
Audrey is working when her dad comes in and she says she’s prepping for the staff meeting. He asks her about a family photo of them at the beach when she was little. She says it’s her good luck charm and pulls it out of her wallet and sits beside him. They laugh over the photo. He says she was great looking even then.
She asks if he’s okay and he says this is the worst day of his life, but aside from that, he’s great. Audrey says she has to get back to work and she kisses him and says she loves him. He tells her that he loves her too and studies the photo intently. He watches her work and finally hands the photo back and then leaves the room. Audrey stares after him as he leaves. It’s 6:21 pm.
It’s 6:25 pm and Mark brings Jack a chip with the security info for the US people. He’s still working on the British detail and says the meeting starts in three minutes. Jack calls Heller and says they need to leave in five. Heller says he’ll be there. Mark wishes Jack luck. Jordan calls into the CIA and Navarro is alerted and then takes the call. He plays innocent with Jordan who asks to be brought in.
Jordan says he didn’t see who shot at him and he says he will send Eric. He tells Navarro where he is and he tells Jordan to stay put. Navarro calls the killer and tells him where Jordan is and tells him to finish him.
Jack tells Heller they may have a long shot chance at getting access to Margot’s computer. Jack has a medical kit so he can take out Heller’s transponder chip so the Secret Service can’t trace them. He cuts it out and Heller says thank God he didn’t become a surgeon. He places the chip in a box on the desk in the office which is where Heller told his staff he would be all night and didn’t want to be disturbed.
Jack says they are waiting on confirmation from Mark that everyone is in the staff meeting. Jack’s phone chirps and Heller puts on a plain black ball cap and jacket and says he’s ready to go. Jack asks if he’s sure and Heller insists he is. They creep out at 6:28 pm locking the office door behind him. Jack sees security lurking and stops him then when the guy passes, they resume their escape.
Jack and Heller have to stop because Jack’s phone feed is breaking up that has the security staff trackers on it. They pause and sneak up to a small office that looks clear and Jack motions Heller forward. A Secret Service guy comes in and Jack knocks him out and locks him in the bathroom when he didn’t buy Heller’s out for a walk excuse.
They exit the building and are in a stairwell that leads up to the street. They blend in on the busy London streets with other pedestrians at 6:30 pm. By 6:37 pm, Jack and Heller meet up with Mark’s sidekick who secured them a helicopter with no pilot. He tells him to keep this between us and Jack cranks up the machine. The guy looks uncertain but just watches as they take off and fly away.
Sirens blare as the killer creeps toward Jordan’s location. He notices some blood on the red concrete and pulls out his silenced weapon. He hears a grunt and steps into the shop. Jordan hits him in the face with a pipe and takes the gun. He steps around him and then aims the gun at him and tells him to get up. He does. The guy reaches for his spare piece btu Jordan took both.
He tells him he knows Navarro sent him to kill him and says to tell him why he wants him dead or he’ll kill him. The guy says he doesn’t even know ow to use the gun and asks if the safety is on or off. When he glances a look, the guy goes for him and then stabs a knife into him. Jordan pulls a smaller gun and fires into the killer twice and he goes down.
Navarro calls to see what’s going on but gets no answer and looks concerned. Kate is pacing outside his office. Jordan is losing consciousness on the floor of the repair shop. Jack and Heller fly toward the stadium in silence. The tac team is at Margot’s abandoned headquarters and heads inside. They check and clear rooms then pull up the floorboards and call Kate. She tells them to hurry with the disc.
They found the disc and tells Kate they have it. She says to upload it to her now but to also keep looking. They start transferring the files and she goes to ask where Jordan is and the other guy says he left and he doesn’t know where. She orders him to send the file on to Chloe with a cover letter from her saying she’ll call her soon.
Kate calls Jordan’s cell and doesn’t get an answer. She goes to Navarro and says there is a disc that was found. She asks if he knows where Jordan is and he says he took off an hour ago. He says he’ll get security on it and that it’s not like Jordan. Margot has a 30 minute head start so they aren’t confident they can chase her down in time since she could be in a 1,000 places by now.
Ian boots up the system in their new location and tells his mum they have the drone systems back up. She tells him to prep the drones for destruction once she confirms that Heller is dead. He’s not happy but she says the world needs to see that justice can be done and that even a terrorist can keep her word. Ian asks if she thinks Heller will keep his word and she says that we’ll see.
Jack and Heller are near Wembley and come down for a landing outside of the large complex which is all lit up, but seems to have no occupants. Jack shuts down the heli and hears his phone. It’s Chloe. She says the drive may have a way into the drone system but says there are a lot of firewalls. She says she doesn’t think she can get it down in the next few minutes. She’s in a loud pub and says she’s not in ideal circumstances but will do the best she can. Jack tells Heller and they get out of the chopper. It’s 6:47 pm as they get out and prepare to go into the stadium.
At 6:51 pm, Navarro gets a call on his secured phone form Adrian and he says he’s taken care of the Jordan problem. They hang up. Adrian calls Chloe and she thinks it’s Jack. She says she’s busy and he asks if she was expecting a call from Jack. He tells her he’s found a new place for Open Call and asks her to join them and promises it will be safe.
Chloe says she’s doing something really important right now with Jack. He gets defensive and she hangs up on him. Mark asks where Audrey is and the Secret Service guy says she’s in with the President. He lets Mark in and she’s there in tears – she read her dad’s letter. She hugs Mark and tells him he won’t believe this. He gives her a look and she asks if he knew. She asks if it’s too late and he tells her that it is.
She’s angry that he helped her dad and he says it’s what he wanted. She tells him that her dad wasn’t well and she could have changed his mind. He says his mind was made up and she says he may as well have killed her dad with her bare hands. She screams at him and says she’ll never trust him again. He tells her that her dad is the greatest man she’s ever known and says that he would do anything for him and would do this again.
He says if she can’t live with that, then so be it. He tells Audrey to do what she has to do but says they will remain quiet about this because that’s the way her father wanted it. She asks how they’ll know when it’s over and Mark says they’ll get a call. She asks who is with her dad and he says someone that he trusts the way he trusts me. She looks at him with tears on her face. Mark leaves her in her dad’s office as she sobs in horror.
Jack and Heller walk into the stadium at 6:57 pm. Heller says it’s the end of the road and tells Jack that he gave him a Presidential pardon and that all charges from four years have been dropped. Jack says he’s not looking for a pardon and says he doesn’t agree with what Heller is doing. Chloe calls and says she’s making progress. She says she needs more time.
Heller says they have no more time and walks away from Jack and into the middle of the Stadium. Simone is being worked on. Jordan looks dead. Chloe works furiously. Heller walks right out into the middle of the grassy green of Wembley and stands between the two soccer goals. He stops and waits. He takes off his hat, pulls off his glasses and tucks them into his pocket. He waits.
Ian and Margot watch and they wonder if it’s really him. She tells him to move the drone in closer. He does. Ian sees and says it really is Heller. Margot says to move in closer and run facial recognition. He does. It gives a match. She asks if it’s armed and ready to fire and Ian says it is.
Margot wants to fire it herself and Ian puts her hand on the control and her finger on the trigger. She takes aim at his torso and presses the button. The drone fires and Heller is gone in a flash of flame and smoke. Margot stands and looks at the “target destroyed” icon that’s flashing. It’s 7 pm.
