According to Amanda Seyfried‘s latest interview with W Magazine [of which she covers the April issue], she loves sex scenes with her co-stars. Well, this is a first.
Most actresses, and actors, detest sex scenes – or at least, pretend they do. Whenever you ask them about on-camera sex scenes, they always repeat the same thing: how awkward it is to get naked in front of all the crew, how it never feels intimate, how everything is choreographed so it’s impossible to be in the moment, etc.
However, Amanda’s singing a different tune, and she says, “Sex scenes are great. A lot of my co-stars have been sexy guys my age who are really respectful and cool. So, why not? I’m not going to pretend it’s not fun.”
See, actors and actresses? You can admit that sex scenes are fun without coming off creepy. Obviously, a lot of them have to enjoy being paid to make out with someone and simulate sex, and the only reason that they all say that sex scenes are terrible is to come off as ‘professional’. I mean, most of the time they’re paired with someone who’s very attractive, just as Amanda stated, so what’s the rub? Sure, it’s ‘awkward’, but only if you let it be awkward.
I’m sure that some of them genuinely find it uncomfortable, but I think there’s a larger percentage of actors who enjoy the sex scenes and just don’t admit it for fear of being judged. But clearly, Amanda doesn’t have that problem, so good for her.
