It seems like when it comes to Angelina Jolie‘s family there is never peace for very long. She has had a hot and cold relationship with her father, Jon Voight, for most of the last decade and has at times kept her kids from the actor. The problems ultimately seem to be rooted in the fact that Jon cheated on Angie’s beloved mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and even years after her passing Angie still carries the grudge on her mother’s behalf. According to the May 12th print edition of Globe magazine, Jon may have the last laugh after years’ of being treated badly.
After attending his friend Sid Caesar’s funeral recently, Jon realized that there were some things that he still really wanted to do and writing a memoir tops his list. At first, he enlisted Angie’s help with the project, thinking that perhaps it would pull them closer. Of course, her reaction was to take about ten steps away from her father while assuming that the book will bash both Angie and her mother. Once again Jon suggested that they go to counseling to help mend fences and as usual Angie shot down the idea because she has no intention of sharing her secrets with a stranger.
Ironically, by not helping Jon, Angie runs the risk of him turning on her in print. Do you think that he would slam his daughter in his new book, leaving a permanent mark on their relationship?
