Angelina Jolie received her honorary Dame Commander title from Queen Elizabeth yesterday, but Kate Middleton was notably absent from the ceremony. Unsurprisingly, Kate has always made it a point to be present during major events with celebrities in attendance, but we all know that she’s very sick right now. In fact, Kate Middleton isn’t even at Kensington palace anymore, having moved to her parents’ Bucklebury home to recuperate from her worsening morning sickness. Queen Elizabeth honored Angelina withe the long and archaic honory title of Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (DCMG).
Kate must have been especially angry about missing this particular event, since she’s always said that Angelina Jolie is the one celebrity that she always wanted to meet. Unfortunately, Angelina Jolie and Queen Elizabeth had all the fun [although ‘fun’ might be an overstatement], and Kate was at home, sick, puking, and generally not in the position to get dressed up, meet Angelina Jolie, and be photographed.
So far, Kate Middleton has been very sick with Hyperemesis Gravidarum for little longer than a month, and experts have sussed out that she’ll be in the same position for another few weeks. The royals have already had to cancel several public engagements on Kate’s behalf, and they’re now chomping at the bit to get her out and showcase her baby bump to the world. They’re already toting around the end of October as when Kate will start making public appearances again, but they also said that Kate would be fine at the beginning of October last month. I wouldn’t take bets on just how long it will take Kate to recover, especially since she couldn’t even make it out to an event with Angelina Jolie this week. Not only that, but I have a feeling Kate’s not going to want to make many public appearances after she’s started gaining baby weight. Call me superficial, but even royals don’t enjoy being analyzed to the death by the media in pregnancy photos.
