Apollo Nida Prison Sentence Begins - Phaedra Parks' Husband Stops Running, Finally Surrenders Himself To Authorities!

Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Apollo Nida has finally turned himself into a federal prison. He’s a a tad late but he finally did it. On Wednesday, he unexpectedly went to the home of his estranged wife, RHOA star Phaedra Parks, instead of going to jail.

Executive Assistant of the FMC Lexington prison in Kentucky, Kenny Coleman, confirmed to Radar that Apollo is indeed in prison: “I can confirm that he is here.” Coleman also says, “That’s not something that I can discuss at this time.”

Early Thursday morning Nida, tweeted that he had checked into prison tweeting, “I would like to say thanks 4 everyone’s support & thanks 4 holding me in prayer I’ve arrived 2 my destination and I’m going asunder.” Since when do prisoners get to use Twitter? He then put a video on Instagram thanking his fans for their support. “Well everyone, I have finally arrived at the penitentiary. I’m about to go asunder. Thank you for the support and prayer. Stay tuned, and you’ll hear from me shortly,” he says in the video.

Phaedra is focusing on her two children. A source tells Radar that “she’s happy he did the right thing and turned himself in.” As previously reported, Apollo Nida showed up at Parks’ home and went ballistic. The Bravo cameras filmed the whole thing . “It was pretty frightening. Phaedra was understandably terrified and shaken up by the ordeal,” a source says.

Nida pleaded guilty back in May to bank fraud and identity theft and was sentenced to eight years in prison, and has to pay nearly $2 million in restitution.

This is his second time serving a prison sentence. He previously served five years in a federal prison for auto title fraud before marrying Phaedra Parks in 2009.

Season 7 of Real Housewives of Atlanta starts November 2nd on Bravo!
