One of the many twists that were announced during the season premiere of Big Brother 16 was the “Team America Alliance.” Fans were asked to vote for the player they wanted on their BB16 secret alliance. The three players that were chosen are then secretly told in the diary room that they had been selected and they have to work together to complete random tasks chosen by America, for every task they complete they will receive $5,000.00.
Joey Van Pelt was the first player chosen by fans voting at home to be a member of Team America. Unfortunately she was also the first player evicted form the BB16 house. The second player to join Team America was fan-favorite Donny, a simple groundskeeper in his mid-forties from North Carolina. TPTB decided to let America vote in two more players to the Team America Alliance, since Joey Van Pelt was evicted before the alliance even really kicked off.
Although it hasn’t been revealed yet on Big Brother who the next new members of Team America are, it has been revealed on CBS’s live feeds of the BB16 house. Donny Thompson, Frankie Grande, and Derrick Levasseur were all seen on the live feeds last night discussing their new Team America alliance and how they planned to work together until the Final Three. Derrick, Donny, and Frankie really are an unexpected combination of players, and it will take a while before the other house-guests even question that they could be working together. Then again, the fact that they are three totally different players could also hurt them, because it will be really difficult for the three of them to get along and see eye to eye.
