Tonight’s episode of Blue Bloods hits close to home for the Reagan Family. A cop was shot and all they knew was that the cop was from Danny’s precinct. So of course the family did everything they could to track down the prodigal son.

Danny got in touch with his wife. He wanted to reassure her and after he was done with her he then moved on to his other family members. It seems everyone was scared and even now, knowing that Danny’s ok, they’re still worried.

General a cop-shooting shakes up all the families, but the Reagan Family has been through this before. They already lost one son and couldn’t manage losing another.

Speaking of a missing son, Erin ran into an old friend of her daughter’s. She saw this kid who was once form an affluent family begging on the streets. And when she recognized him – he ran away.

When Erin went home she asked Nicky about him. It seems Tyler might have run away from home. The story was his mom put him in boarding school several months ago because he was getting into drugs. So it’s possible he could have run away in order to continue down that path.

Nicky wants to find him and help. But her mother said all they could do was notified the correct authorities. Well, Nicky took this to mean her Uncle Jamie. Jamie is a cop and so she asked him to look for her friend.

As for the death of Det. Steve Tomlin, Danny and Baez can’t find anything that would lead them to his killer. Steve was undercover in the Castillo organization when someone rat him out. And now the killer is not only walking free, but it appears he got help from the inside.

Someone cleaned out Steve’s locker. They would only do that to cover up any of Steve’s wrongdoing or under Castillo’s orders. Either option doesn’t look good to Frank.

Danny and Baez found their cop-killer through his sister. The sister had a boyfriend and the boyfriend was more afraid of the cops than he was of Castillo. He even gave them the directions to his girlfriend’s place.

And Castillo was there. He was hiding out in the bath tub when they found him and yet he was still smiling as they dragged him to the precinct. Yet Danny noticed something as he was dragging his suspect.

He saw another cop look away. So Danny followed the cop and demanded answers. With usually amount of persuasion, the cop admitted to cleaning out Steve’s locker. Although he swears he had nothing to do with Castillo. No, he cleaned out that locker to protect his friend.

Steve was honorable cop, but he had some dark secrets. He had another family hidden away.

That got the Reagan Family talking during their traditional dinner. They sent the kids away to discuss how Steve managed to get away with it. Henry for one was embarrassed to have a cop do that while Jamie was more sympathetic. He wasn’t writing the other woman off as the mistress that didn’t deserve any compassion. Jamie felt that was too black and white. And Danny didn’t. He thought the man was foolish and yet he had to work the case which meant he had to meet the other woman.

She wasn’t the femme fatale that Danny was picturing though. She didn’t know Steve was married and felt disgusted with herself for not picking up on something being wrong. Danny had to comfort her to get her to see that it wasn’t all a ploy. Steve did have feeling for her and that’s why he added her as a beneficiary to his pension.

Danny took care of the mistress, but he left the wife to Frank. Frank’s only job was to go, see her, and refrain from saying anything. He failed at that when the wife brought up the other woman.

She’s known all about it for at least a year and she’s just angry that everyone tip toed around her. Steve wasn’t the great guy they were all claiming he was and she was tired of hearing it from friends and from Frank. So she asked him to skip Steve’s funeral.

Frank found out later on that Steve forgot to file his paperwork. Or in other words – the mistress and her baby won’t get a dime. Moore was ok with that. It helped them cover up Steve’s transgressions. Frank on the other hand wanted to do more for the other woman. He was thinking of setting up a second beneficiary fund when Danny interrupted him at home with some pretty bad news.

The wife admitted to calling the girlfriend and telling her “how dare you when I’ve been with him since the first day on the job”. Though she didn’t actually call the mistress. She had ended up calling one of Castillo’s guys and it was the wife that blew his cover.

Frank didn’t have the heart to tell the wife the truth behind her husband’s murder.

Jamie found Nicky’s friend despite Nicky lying to him to get his help. He found the kid and heard the real story behind Tyler Jeffries. Tyler left school after it was his mom that got heavily involved in the drug scene. And he’s been combing the streets looking for his mother since she disappeared.

Erin and Jamie found his mother for him and they also found a relative to help take care while his mom is in treatment.

And Frank is going to help the mistress. A cop’s kid deserves to be taken care of.
