Remember last November when Celine Dion was spotted out in public on several occasions looking like a semi-distraught mess? Everyone was speculating on the status of her marriage to Rene Angelil because they were rarely spotted together. That in itself is a huge indication that something is up between them because normally Rene travels with his wife. Well now a few months after the fact we are learning that something major was happening between these two.
According to Radar Online Rene had throat surgery in December to remove a cancerous tumor and he has spent the months since slowly bouncing back to a healthy state. This isn’t Rene’s first cancer battle either. At the height of Celine’s career she walked away from the spotlight to take care of her husband and she no doubt was fearful of how things were going to turn out this time around.
The couple have three sons and so Celine kept working to support the family while Rene has recuperated in Las Vegas. She said that she hasn’t wanted her husband to worry about business at all and that his only job was to focus on getting 100% healthy. Normally Rene micro-manages Celine’s career but after so many years working together she probably knows how to get the job done almost just as well.
