Tonight’s episode of Chicago Fire kicks off with Kelly arriving at Gabriela and Casey’s apartment, they invited him to stay with them since he doesn’t want to live in his apartment that he used to share with Shay.

Gabriela heads to 105 and gives them a box of wine as a gift.  She tells them that it’s a gift from her bar, she wants to butter them up because she’ll be transferring to their fire house in a week.  They tell her that she shouldn’t expect to be greeted with open arms because the last time there was a woman in their fire house it was a disaster.

Kelly heads to work and the Captain takes him aside and tries to get him to go see the grief counselor.  Kelly reassures him that he is fine, and they are interrupted by an emergency call.  They arrive at the scene of a car accident and find a car over an embankment, they’re a girl trapped in the car, but a guy is trapped underneath the trailer that the car was towing.  Kelly is attached to a cable and climbs down the hill and manages to save the girl out of the car.  Once she is safe and sound, the captain congratulates him and tells him “welcome back.”

The new EMT Sylvie introduces herself to Kelly in the breakroom, but Kelly gives her the cold shoulder and walks away.  Gabriela is concerned about transferring to 105 and she is afraid she won’t make the cut, Casey offers to give her a work-out on the stairs after their shift in case they test her when she arrives at the new house.

Kelly meets up with Lindsey and she tells him she is sorry about what happened to Shay.  They make plans to get drinks together after their shifts.

Gabriela straps on all of her equipment after work, and Casey has her run up the stairs of the building and yells at her like a drill sergeant.  When she gets up to the roof she finds an engagement ring waiting for her.  Casey follows her upstairs and asks her to marry him and she says “yes.”

Peter Mills heads to the house where his biological grandfather Leonard lives.  A man answers the door, and Peter says that he is Henry Mill’s son, the guy doesn’t believe him.  Peter tells him to check it out if he doesn’t believe him and leaves his name and number with the guy.

Kelly stays out all night drinking, but Casey assumes he was with Lindsey.  The next day at the fire house Kelly congratulates Casey on his engagement.  Meanwhile, Mouch and Cruz are trying desperately to convince Christopher to let them buy shares of his restaurant Molly’s.  Gabriela heads out in the rig with Sylvie and confesses that she and Casey are engaged, but they are trying to keep it a secret until her transfer goes through.

Sylvie and Gabriela get a phone call to a seedy part of town, a guy overdosed in the street.  While they are trying to take care of him, they are surrounded by junkies trying to steal their needles.  The fire truck arrives and the guy scares the junkies away.  The guy on the ground comes to, and freaks out and runs away.  While they are leaving, Sylvie reveals that she leaves right around the corner in the ghetto, Gabriela is shocked.  She gives her a tour of her house, and Gabriela sees a huge stack of hundred dollar bills on the counter, Sylvie says she just hasn’t set up a checking account yet.

Gabriela is called in to the head office of the Chicago Fire Co., she learns that her transfer didn’t go through and she won’t be heading over to 105.  Gabriela knows it is because she is a girl, and they don’t want girls on their team, but the Sargent  reassures her that gender is not an issue and they will find another house to transfer her to.
Peter’s mom arrives at the fire house, and she isn’t happy that he went to see his father’s family.  She confesses that the reason she and Henry cut all ties to the Mills family is because they disowned him when they learned she was marrying a black woman and called his mom horrible racist names and tried to tear them apart.

Kelly heads to Molly’s and gets wasted, Sylvie stops by for a drink and Kelly begins rubbing her face and rambling about how much she looks like Shay.  Herman cuts him off, and refuses to get him any more drinks.  They offer to call Kelly a cab, but he walks out.

The next day at work Sylvie tries to talk to Kelly and he ignores her.  Herman takes Casey aside and tells him that Kelly has been drinking every night.  Casey thought he was staying with Kelly.  Herman reveals that he has been drinking all night and then sleeping for a few hours before his shift starts.

A call comes in from an abandoned lot, they rush to the scene and find two men about ten feet below ground working on gas line pipes.  The men are unconscious because of the gas leak.  The narrow passage can only fit one man, so they send Mills down to bring up the men.  After he fastens both men to the bungie and they hoist them up, Mills pass out and is hanging upside down and unconscious.  They try to pull him up, but his cable is caught on a rock.  Casey uses a pole to get the cable lose, and they finally get Mills above ground.  They wake him up and ask him what happened, and he has no idea, he says it got hard to breath and he blacked out.  They think his mask may have malfunctioned because he was upside down.

Back at the fire house, the guy shows up to see Peter that was at Leonard’s house.  He tells him that he talked to Leonard, and he wants to see Peter.  Peter tells him that he can tell Leonard and all the Mills to go to hell.

Chief Wallace heads to an ultrasound with his wife, and he is concerned because they put her in the high-risk category.  The nurse reassures him that their baby is active and healthy, they are just keeping a close eye on her because of her age.

Kelly meets up with Lindsay, he is drunk and forgot their date.  She tells him that she will be there for him as a friend, but she won’t be the girl waiting alone in restaurants all night.  Kelly breaks down and cries, “she was my best friend.”

THE END!
