Fans of The Young and the Restless will be overjoyed to learn that Billy Miller is finally on his way back to daytime television on General Hospital. There have been General Hospital spoilers speculating that the uber popular actor would be joining the cast of General Hospital in the role of Jason Morgan and we can finally confirm that it’s true. Frank Valentini, General Hospital’s Executive Producer finally confirmed the casting news via his Twitter.
The notion of Billy Miller landing the role of Jason Morgan started off as a desperate hope on the part of his fan base, subject to wishful General Hospital spoilers, but it didn’t take long for the possibility to morph into reality. Miller’s work on The Young & the Restless was nothing short of phenomenal and his firing by Jill Farren Phelps was thought to be one of her many missteps that would ultimately chase long time viewers from the show. One thing is for sure, Miller’s fans have waited nearly 9 months to see him onscreen again and they will no doubt happily flock to Port Charles to see him again.
As for General Hospital fans that were disappointed to learn that Steve Burton would not be returning as Jason Morgan, we strongly suggest that you give Miller a chance. In fact Burton himself endorsed Miller as his inevitable replacement for the role that he spent two decades breathing life into. Once Steve Burton decided not to return to General Hospital it was gracious of him to direct fans as well as the powers-that-be in another direction- Millers.
We’re hearing that it’s still going to be awhile before Jason Morgan returns to GH as played by Miller, but the show has been more than willing to work with the actor on accommodating his needs as an actor. While renegotiating his contract with Y&R Billy Miller wanted to have time built in so that he could leave for a week or two and do another project simply to keep his skills sharp. Jill Farren Phelps refused that and it led to Miller walking away. Already General Hospital has agreed to those terms to look for Miller to happily sink his teeth into the role of Jason Morgan.
