Tonight on NBC world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay’s television series Hell’s Kitchen where aspiring chefs compete returns with an all new Wednesday December 3, season 13 episode 12 called, “7 Chefs Compete,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, the remaining seven chefs are challenged to make an artistic amuse-bouche inspired by speed painter Tim Decker; and later, the teams struggle with communication and getting their food out on time during a dinner service that sees one contestant sent home before the elimination ceremony begins.

On last week’s episode, in the last team challenge, the remaining contestants were tasked with the signature HELL’S KITCHEN blind taste test. When contestants incorrectly identified a dish, one of their teammates were dunked in a dunk tank. The team that correctly identified the most dishes won a day at the Santa Monica pier and a dinner at The Lobster, while the losing team had to clean the dorms, floors and bathrooms of HELL’S KITCHEN. Later during dinner service, the two teams prepared dinner for special VIP guests honoring firefighters. Although the guests left pleased and satisfied, Chef Ramsay was disappointed in both teams’ services and asked for each team to present teammates to be up for elimination. On tonight’s episode as per the NBC synopsis, “Chef Ramsay challenges the remaining contestants to an artistic dish challenge. Inspired by a special appearance from speed artist Tim Decker, each contestant must create two servings of the same amuse-bouche. The contestants who earn the most points for their team, while impressing Chef Ramsay and guest judge and Epicurious Editor-in-Chief, Tanya Steel, will win a helicopter ride to Catalina Island and a meal at Bluewater Avalon. The losing team will unload and crack hundreds of coconuts in preparation for the next dinner service. During dinner service, both teams struggle with communication and getting dishes out on time to the VIP dinner guests, leading Chef Ramsay to send home a contestant before the elimination ceremony begins. The competition is down to the top 7 and each chef has an idea how to reach their goals; Gordon mention that his favorite thing about cooking is creating their own dish with nothing. Gordon wants pure artistic work, he wants them to make the most beautiful amuse bouche; Sterling was confused at first but he after taking his time to think he figures it out. The chefs are so excited with their wide big selection of ingredients, Gordon wants them to go wild and now all the chefs must decide to drop a dish. Sterling thinks his is ugly and nominates his to go down. Gordon welcomes Tanya Steele to score their dishes; they are starting with the red team. La

Tasha comes up with hers and gets a 7 on it. Roe is next and got bad reviews on her dish giving her a 4 in total of both votes. Jennifer is next and the head of a prawn was very off putting, she got a total of 5. They have 16 points now, but it’s the blue teams turn. Bryant is up first and it’s a little over cooked, he got a total of 7 on it. Santos is up next and his dish was given a total got a total of 7 as well.

Sade is last up for the blue team, though it tastes really delicious; they can’t understand how her dish works. The blue team win with her dish getting and 8 in total; she has broken her 7 challenge loss streak. The blue team is going to fly to Catalina Island in their private helicopter, Sade is so happy to finally get out. The red team has to unload 200 coconuts and make fresh coconut milk. The blue team is now going to their reward, while the red team is struggling to get all those coconuts busted; Sterling never wants to see coconuts again. The blue team are really enjoying their food and they are all having a good time together. The blue team are back and are really rubbing it in the red teams face. Jennifer is getting really ill right now, she thinks she was allergic to fresh Coconut and the medics are on the way.

Jennifer is struggling to breath and now an ambulance has come to pick her up, the three of the red team left are now thinking of how to work without Jennifer. The blue team is all ready, but the red team is still one chef down; though Jennifer comes back and she is sucking it up so that she won’t be eliminated. The blue team is a chef down and Gordon wants them to give it their all. Hell’s Kitchen opens and the teams start cooking; the red team is doing very well with pushing out food from the kitchen.

Now the blue team is also picking up the pace really well, they are even ahead of the red team. Gordon is back in the red team and they are also doing a good job until one of Sterling’s scallops come out raw, he promises he won’t mess up again. Though the blue team is keeping it up really well with a man down. Now the red team is next with scallops an d Gordon tells them that one of the scallops are raw. Gordon tells them to stop, he wants them all out.

Sterling says he will try one more time and if he fails then he will switch, the team is getting so stressed at his constant failure. The blue team is just knocking their dishes out, though they are getting slower and slower. The red team is still waiting on the scallops, he once again failed on them; Sterling says it’s his fault and switches but won’t give up. Gordon summons the red team, Jennifer is a bit lost because the meat was backed up with Sterling messing up a lot. The blue team is doing well and Santos brings up his scallops though for once tonight he made a mistake for the first time; but Gordon isn’t accepting it.

Gordon takes Santos out and he wants him to get it back together for the last two tables, Santos goes out and he knows he can bounce back; Gordon takes a look at his scallops and they go out. The blue team now complete their service, though the red team is behind they are working hard to finish up. The teams are done, it wasn’t a bad service for Gordon; though he knows Sterling has to step forward tonight. Gordon says he has been a phenominal and relentless competitor; but knows he is not ready to be his next head chef. He has been a joy to be around and lets him keep his jacket as he leaves, Gordon wants him to keep cooking; Sterling thanks Gordon for such a great chance for his life and goes ahead hugging everyone before he leaves.

Sterling went back and is packing his bags, now he’s walking out and even though he hasn’t won though knows he won Gordon’s heart. Both red and blue must come up with a nominee still. The red team is lost, Roe goes ahead to nominate Jennifer though she has had an alergic reaction bothered her a lot; Jennifer knows that it’s either of these two because La Tasha always does well.

Gordon calls up Santos and Roe; Roe says she is a strong leader of the team and has said she has gained her team confidence. Santos says he has the passion and drive to be his next head ched; he knows he has to step up to be the leader. Gordon decides Roe and Santos to give him their jackets; he gives them their black ones now. Though He calls Jennifer up tonight, Gordon says she has been out a lot; though asks for her jacket to give her a black one. La Tasha steps up now to get hers. Bryant is up next to get his own and Sade follows up to get her own as well. We now have the top 6 chefs.
