RECAP: On tonight’s episode of Hotel Hell, Chef Ramsey heads to Murphy’s Hotel, Saloon, & Restaurant. After getting a tour of the historical hotel, he heads to his room, the “Ulysses S. Grant Room” to unpack. He jokes that it smells like a museum.

Chef Ramsey heads down to the restaurant and meets Brian, one of the owners of the hotel. Brian introducers him to the co-owners Joel and Kevin. Chef Ramsey is confused, because they insist they are all equally in charge of the hotel. He says that it is impossible to not have an over all manager. He heads to the pink dining-room and can’t believe that a hotel owned by three men has a pink dining-room. Gordon orders escargot and a halibut steak. The escargot tastes like like “dirty socks” and is still half frozen. He orders a lamb shank next and refuses to eat it because it looks like a “plate of vomit.” Chef Ramsey makes Kevin and Brian taste the food they are serving, and they are shocked that it really is that horrible. Gordon brings all three owners out to the diningroom and say that he is surrounded by “three idiots,” and they have no idea what they are doing.

Business is bumping at Murphy’s Hotel because everyone has heard that Chef Ramsey is at the restaurant. Since they are understaffed, they leave the front desk unattended. There is a sign telling them to go to the bar and ask for a room. They wander through the restaurant in search of someone to check them in. While all hell is breaking loose, Chef Ramsey decides to check out the walk-in refrigerator, which is full of rotten and moldy food. Chef Ramsey brings the owners in the refrigerator, and they insist that they clean it twice a week. He screams at them and tells them to man up and look like owners, and tells them they are “dumb, dumber, and dumbest.”

It’s 1:00 AM and Chef Ramsey tries to head up to his room to go to sleep. Only, his room is above the bar and they are still partying hard. He heads back down to the bar to ask for a different room, and finds Brian drunk and ripping his shirt off in front of everyone at the bar. He rants to Gordon that the reason is he partying is because he is so upset about the mold in the refrigerator. Gordon tells him he is drunk and he needs to go home. He moves to a different room that is supposed to be quieter, but it is just as loud. He wakes up the next morning and tries to take a shower in the disgusting bathroom.

Gordon heads to the restaurant and tells the owners it is time to have a staff meeting. Their employees throw them under the bus and tell Gordon that the hotel is basically Kevin, Brian, and Joel’s personal frat house, they party in the bar all night and give out free drinks. Chef Ramsey says enough is enough, somebody needs to take charge and they need to have a general manager. Brian volunteers to be the general manager, Gordon tells him he needs to stop drinking on the job if he is going to run the business. Brian reassures him that he is going to change and be more of an owner.

Chef Ramsey sits down with Brian privately and tells him he needs to get it together or else he is going to lose the business. Brian announces that from this day forward he is a changed man. Chef Ramsey’s design team works through the night to modernize the hotel for Brian, Chris, and Joel.

The next morning they all meet in front of Murphy’s and Gordon gives them a tour of the new hotel. They are shocked by the transformation of the lobby. Chef Ramsey also announces that he has set up online booking for them, and they transformed all of the rooms of the hotel. Chris gushes that he is amazed by the transformation, and Joel is speechless. On the final stop of the tour, Chef Ramsey unveils the all new diningroom, which is no longer pink. Before Chef Ramsey leaves he shares an all new menu that he created for the restaurant, and a wine tasting menu.

With new menus and rooms, Murphy’s Hotel is ready to get back to business. Before Chef Ramsey leaves, he wishes Brian, Joel, Chris and their employees good luck and is on his way.
