Tonight on E! House of DVF premieres with a whole new November 2, season 1 premiere episode called, “Fashion 101.” On tonight’s show ten aspiring fashionistas compete for a dream job; they must represent DVF at an award show.
For those of you who are not familiar with the show, Diane von Furstenberg and her eponymous fashion brand have long been symbols of confidence, grace and fearlessness. Now, as Diane mentors a new generation of hard-working young women ready to take their careers to the next level at DVF, E! is there to capture every triumphant and pressure-filled moment in a new genre of television.
On tonight’s show fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg mentors 10 young talented women as they compete for the position of global brand ambassador in this reality series, which begins with the hopefuls taking on their first task at the 5th Annual DVF Awards at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Tonight’s season premiere of House of DVF begins with Diance von Furstenberg arriving at her office. She has had her team scope out a group of regular girls, she plans to train them to be able to travel around the world and represent her company. After weeks of challenges and training – the final girl left standing will be named the DVF Brand Ambassador. Diane’s team heads in to her office to brief her on the eight women that they have selected to compete for the brand ambassador title.
Diane’s team shows her pictures of the contestants they have selected and gives Diane a brief background on each girl. Diane is shocked to hear that one of the potential ambassadors even went as far as to sell her eggs to that she could afford to attend fashion week. Brittany Hampton already has an obvious edge over the other girls – she has worked as Ariana Grande’s stylist. The contestants come from all walks of life – there is even a 22 year old married Mormon. When they are done looking over the girls’ bios Diane announces that they brought her ten girls, and there is only room for eight. They are going to have to cut two of the girls.
Diane’s contestants all head to the Spice Market, they begin milling around and introducing themselves to each other. The drinks start flowing, and Diane’s assistants Stephanie and Jessica arrive at the restaurant. They reveal that there is only room for eight of them, and two of them will be eliminated. They make arrangements for them to meet up the next morning.
Stephanie and Jessica leave Spice Market – and confess that they are scared that Diane isn’t going to like any of their girls. One of the was dressed like a prostitute and everyone could see her nipples, and Rhianna was on her phone the entire time Stephanie and Jessica were talking to the girls.
The next morning all ten girls head to the DVF show room at House of DVF and wait for Stephanie and Jessica to arrive. While they are waiting – they proceed to go through all of the merchandise in the show room and putting on the clothes and moving it around. Meanwhile, Rhianna video chats with her boyfriend on the phone.
Stephanie and Jessica arrive, and are not happy that they are running around in the show room and going through all of the clothes. Diane’s assistants reveal that they have an event later that night called the “DVF Awards” and they will be honoring Alicia Keys and Sarah Jessica Parker and several other celebrities will be in attendance. The DVF girls will all attend the event and help them run it – and they all have to be on their best behavior.
The girls have to dress themselves for the event and they spend the rest of the day fretting about what they will wear to the DVF Awards. They finally are all dressed and head to the ceremony and Stephanie meets them at the door, she touches up a few of their dresses and makes some of the girls take off their accessories. She tells all the girls to have over their purses, and then begins handing out assignments. The girls are shocked when some of them hear that they will be working as ushers or at the buffet.
Rhianna is supposed to be working as an usher – but instead she is following Diane von Furestenberg around the hall. She interrupts her and introduces herself and Diane is not happy, she wanted to focus on the celebrities tonight, not have to meet the new DVF girls. While Alicia Keys is on stage, Rhianna gets really nauseas and runs to the bathroom. After the awards ceremony – they find Rhianna in the bathroom hyperventilating and they have to call the paramedics.
The next day Diane meets with her team, and learns that Rhianna had an episode last night. Stephanie says that she thinks that Rhianna was having an anxiety attack or just faking it, because she acted fine and then when she seen the ambulance she started hyperventilating again. Afterwards she heads downstairs to formally meet the new DVF girls.
The girls head in to Diane’s office for one-on-one meetings with her. Diane critiques them on their jobs at the awards ceremony last night. When Rihanna arrives Diane wants to know why every one is saying that she was faking she was sick. Diane thought in the beginning that Rihanna was perfect for the position, but now she thinks she is a little too entitled and dramatic. Diane informs her that she is eliminated from the competition and must go home. After Rihanna leaves the building, Diane informs Coco that she is also eliminated and being sent home. Coco is shocked, and heads downstairs sobbing to say her goodbyes to the other girls.
