Tonight on E! House of DVF continues with a whole new Sunday December 21, season 1 finale episode called, “Show Day Showdown,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s show, everything is put to the test; Diane von Furstenberg has to decide who the new Brand Ambassador will be.
On the last episode, the stakes were high when the hopefuls were given the challenge of styling themselves for a photo shoot and interview with InStyle magazine. Later, Diane revealed the candidates’ wrap dress designed, but not before eliminating another contestant. Did you watch last week’s episode episode? On tonight’s episode as per the E! synopsis, “Season 1 comes to a close with everything the hopefuls have been working for getting put to the test at DVF’s exclusive New York Fashion Week event, during which Diane makes her decision about the new Brand Ambassador.”

Diane says they are down to the wire and have to choose their global brand ambassador. It’s fashion week and they have to oversee rehearsal. Diane says representing the brand can’t be taken lightly and isn’t sure about Kier. She heard that Kier sold her eggs to go to fashion week. Diane says Kier is a good girl even though she’s teased her about being a bitch.
She says Brittany is the most qualified as an established stylist. She’s worked with Ariana Grande. She says she was off her for awhile because of her bad attitude. She says Amanda is beautiful and sincere but is young and parties. She thinks about the three of them and who should go and who should she keep. She says she’s still not sure what to do.
Diane shows up and asks her people talk to her about the big decision. Stefani says the show is a whole new level and Diane says she wishes they could all stay. Stefani likes Amanda and says she’s delightful. Jessica says she likes her too and says she has a lot of experience she doesn’t talk about – with Michael Kors. Stefani says Kier is a good presenter now.
Diane says she’s not that stable. Eran likes Brittany and says she has a spark that makes her interesting. Jessica says she’s an insincere backstabber and that she’s seen it. Michael likes Amanda and says he doesn’t get Kier. Diane says there is a good and bad Kier but it’s not a rehab program. Stefani says she’s known Diane 15 years but has no clue who she’ll pick.
Diane goes to check on the fashion show and looks at seating. Grace says they have the first lady near Anna Wintour. Diane says seating is critical. They have Allison Williams and Anna Leigh Tipton. Kier wants to be sitting there next year. Amanda says she can’t imagine doing this and Kier says Amanda is overwhelmed and shouldn’t be there.
Diane tells the girls they’re going to run the rehearsal. Diane says they all look nervous. There will be 730 seated and Diane wonders what they should wear. Diane suggests they were wraps and tells Kier that her boobs work will in a wrap. She thanks her. Diane tapes her good luck coin into the bottom of her shoe – it was the first money her father made and she always wears it.
The girls talk about the rehearsal. Kier thinks for sure that she’s won and can’t wait to hear Diane says it. Amanda tells Kier and Brittany they have bad attitudes. Kier says Amanda has no strong opinions and Amanda says they are all neck and neck no matter what they think. They look at their dresses and are happy to see the gold ones.
Brittany is annoyed that they are talking about their boobs when she wants to focus on work. Kier is way excited to found out who won. They head over to rehearsal. Brittany says she has to keep all of Diane’s notes in mind. Amanda says she’s going to work her butt off and prove she’s the one for the job. Diane tells William, her driver, it’s a beautiful day for the show. She forgot her tequila.
She says every show is nerve wracking and checks out the show. She likes the music and starts dancing around and snapping pics of her staff. They dance too. The girls show up and see them grooving. Brittany says it’s cute to see them dancing like teenagers. Diane loves them in the gold wraps. Stefani says how they perform today will be the deciding factor but isn’t sure they’re ready.
Stefani tells them to make sure the rehearsal goes off perfectly and says Diane expects it. She introduces the production team and hands them off to Duda. Amanda worries the models aren’t listening and thinks they’re just brushing her off. Stefani is happy to see that Brittany is leading without being nasty. They are down to 15 minutes before dress.
Kendall Jenner is walking in the show. They have to pull the models from hair and makeup to run the dress. Amanda says getting the models out of the chairs is hard. Kier pisses off a model who then yells at her. Brittany can’t believe this. Kier says the model shoved her and Amanda says Kier is batshit cray and can’t avoid getting into a fight.
Kier says she was just trying to get the guy to stop putting glue in the model’s hair for the extensions and Brittany says you can’t put your hands in a top model’s face. Duda comes over to talk to her about how she talks to the models. The rehearsal is starting and Kier steps in to sub for Naomi who is not there right now. She’s thrilled and Brittany is annoyed.
Amanda is trying to get the models in order but it’s like herding cats. Amanda has them in order and they start walking. Kier heads out in Naomi’s place. Diane wonders why she’s seeing Kier on the runway. Diane says she thinks she’s gone crazy. Stefani thinks she’s lost her mind. She tells Diane as she passed that she’s place holding for Naomi.
Diane says once she realized that she was excited for her. She says Kier was walking like a super model and was impressed. Diane tells her later she could be a model and Kier says it was so cool.
Caroline says they have to get the people in their seats now. They have five minutes to see almost 800 people. She tells them to hustle but act cool. They serve as ushers and seat people.
Kier is happy to see bloggers she knows and says it’s embarrassing to be seating them instead of sitting with them. Amanda thinks she’s delusional. Diane’s hubby Barry is there and she greets him warmly. Whoopi Goldberg is there with her granddaughter. The other girls from the competition are also back for the fashion show and finale.
Brittany is happy to see Abs and Tiff. Kier is happy to see them to gloat. Amanda lines the models up but they are out of order. Brittany rushes to fix it. She fixes it and the show starts. The girls are so excited to be backstage watching the models. Diane says she was impressed with Brittany’s leadership. She snaps a pic of her. Kier says Brittany doesn’t like to be help but likes to be seen helping.
Kier and Amanda are standing around while Brittany is looking busy. The models go out for one final turn and Diane says it’s all about emotions and is all just eight minutes then done. Diane goes out to take her bow. Brittany says seeing Diane there lets her know she was meant to be there. Diane dances to Parole. After, Diane poses for photos with the models.
Ellen comes over and tells the girls they need to head to Diane’s office as soon as it’s all done. All the other girls that were already sent home are at Diane’s office. Lenore says she thinks this is the moment for the announcement. They wonder if it’s okay to take the champagne off the tray and decide to do it. They talk about the three finalists and Abigail asks what experience Kier has.
Jessica and Stefani show up next and ask who the girls think. They hear Brittany, Amanda and then anyone but Kier. Then the three finalists show up all nervous about the decision. Diane shows up then. She says she’s ready to make a decision. She tells Kier she did a great job at rehearsal. She thinks Kier has come a long way. She says she’s a hard worker. She then tells Kier she’s going home.
Kier is stunned. She thought it was compliments but it was the precursor to a firing. She hugs Diane and says she didn’t see it coming. Diane says Kier needs to learn how to control herself better and not have a chip on her shoulder. And then there were two – Brittany and Amanda!
Diane looks at the remaining two. She asks Brittany about today and she says she’s learned about who she wants to be and how much she’s grown. She says she wants to be the brand ambassador. Amanda says her favorite part was when Diane went out and after and did her victory lap. She’s crying and says she really inspired her.
Amanda says she loves Diane and really wants to work with her. Diane says her team is divided and the decision is up to her. Diane says Amanda is young and delicious and has learned a lot. She says Brittany has a combination of style, leadership and elegance. She says it’s a tough choice but she’s decided. She calls for champagne and says they are drinking to the winner who will get a one year contract – she says it’s Brittany.
Everyone is crying now. Brittany hugs Diane and then the other girls. She’s over the moon. She says it’s the moment she’s waited her whole life for. Amanda says she’s taken many amazing things away and is happy for her. Kier even hugs her and says she’s happy for her but then says she’ll be even happier when Brittany messes up and Diane calls her to take her place.
Jessica isn’t so happy about it being Brittany. Stefani too has reservations. Brittany promises to do a good job. Diane says she will travel the world representing DVF and Diane says she knows she’ll do a good job. Brittany calls her grandma and Diane tells her that she won. Her grandma is thrilled and congratulates her.
