Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are playing a dangerous game of relationship cat and mouse, but for what it’s worth, Ian does seem really into his new girlfriend, Nikki Reed. Whether Ian and Nikki are doing this for PR purposes or because they really like each other, Nikki definitely seems like less of a PR magnet [read: publicity famewhore] than Nina. For one, she doesn’t constantly flaunt her flings in everyone’s faces, which is saying something for a girl who was rumored to have dated Robert Pattinson back in her Twilight heydays.
Second, she and Ian have only been papped in very un-celebrity situations, i.e. sweaty and leaving the gym, or shopping for groceries. Usually, celebrities tend to call paparazzi when they’re ‘hiking’ in picturesque locations and/or going clubbing at some new Hollywood hot spot.
Meanwhile, Nina has been spotted getting cozy with Gotham and OC star Ben McKenzie. So far, some sources claim they’re just ‘good friends’ while others claim that they’re hooking up. Whatever the truth is, they definitely looked like there was more than just ‘friendship’ going on in pictures of them at Comic-Con. Also, is it a coincidence that a few days after Ian and Nikki went public, Nina’s spotted leaving with a dude at one of the most highly publicized events in the industry? Comic-Con is not a place where you have a fling if you’re trying to fly under the radar. However, it is the type of place that you could utilize in making your ex jealous, if you so wish. Could that be what Nina’s trying to do here?
