Nina Dobrev put up with Ian Somerhalder’s jealous behavior while they were a Vmpire Diaries couple and now reports are that Nikki Reed is facing the same. Ian Somerhalder is finally figuring out what it’s like on the other end of that stick, isn’t he? Ian and his new girlfriend, Nikki Reed, were living in the blissful paradise known as the ‘honeymoon phase’, but alas, it was not meant to last. Putting aside Ian’s difficult relationship with ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev, he is now jealous and reportedly fighting with Nikki over her ex-husband, Paul McDonald. My, what a convoluted web they weave.
According to Star Magazine, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald still work together after their divorce, a fact that is supposedly driving jealous Ian Somerhalder ‘crazy’. A source tells Star, “He’s having a hard time trusting that nothing romantic is going on.”
Yeah, Ian! Just because you have issues being faithful to your significant other, it doesn’t mean that they have the same issue with you. Ok, I’ll admit, that was jumping the gun a little. We have no idea if Ian Somerhalder actually cheated on Nina Dobrev, but we do know that this isn’t the first time cheating rumors have surrounded Ian (Malese Jow). For one thing, Ian was in a long-term relationship with someone else when he first started dating Nina, and I have a hard time believing that those relationships never overlapped. For another – it’s Hollywood. Doesn’t everyone cheat on everyone?
Of course, we have also heard that Ian is having jealousy issues with Nikki, probably left over from his tempestuous relationship with Nina. After watching Nina go off on flings for the past six months, Ian’s probably not too keen on the whole trust thing. But seriously, the dude just has to separate his current relationship with his old relationship, and he’ll be fine. Nikki Reed has always struck me as incredibly professional, and even if she’s still maintaining a working relationship with her ex-husband, I think it speaks more to her professionalism than to her commitment.
