Johnny Weir’s Divorce Drama With Victor Voronov Forces Him To Drop Out Of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice!

The 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards

Johnny Weir, Olympics commentator extraordinaire, has been embroiled in a rather nasty divorce with his husband, Victor Voronov, and it seems things won’t be quieting down anytime soon. Johnny, professional ice skater turned quirky commentator, was set to appear on the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice alongside a slew of other borderline unfamous celebs and Donald Trump. However, now that things have gotten so heated (and not in a good way!) between the couple, it’s forcing Johnny to buckle under the pressure. So much so that he’s chosen to step away from the show.

“Johnny had indeed begun filming Celebrity Apprentice last week, but has been a no show on the set this week amidst the ongoing divorce drama with Victor. He felt all of the drama was going to detract from filming, and decided to quit. It was a hard decision for him to make because Johnny was very excited about doing the show, and has tons of respect for Donald Trump. Hopefully, the offer for him to appear on the show will be extended again in the future,” a source told Radar Online.

He has hopes of returning for another season . . . but there’s just one problem: He might not be riding the same wave of fame he’s currently surfing. Ever since he, alongside Tara Lipinski, appeared as an ice-skating commentator on the recent Winter Olympics, people have been quite intrigued by him and his stories. Will he be as popular in a couple years’ time? Who knows? My guess is no . . . but that’s only if he doesn’t get his own reality TV show before then.

The couple married in 2011 on New Year’s Eve and recently called it quits.
