Katy Perry 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show Deal Being Set In Motion: NFL Fans Satisfied?

2014 The Prismatic World Tour In Las Vegas

Katy Perry will be headlining the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, and she’ll no doubt do a fantastic job. Even if the quality of her musical and singing talents can be debated, there’s no denying that Katy Perry puts on a show every single time she’s performing.

There was all this drama about Rihanna being banned from performing at the next Super Bowl half-time show, which was honestly just a dick move from the NFL. However, they have finally chosen the main performer who will be performing at the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX Halftime show, and it’s none other than Katy Perry!

However, one of the interesting aspects of this year’s Super Bowl is the way the performances and endorsements are set up. In layman’s terms, the singer basically has to pay to perform, i.e. for exposure, media attention, or whatever other reason they may have. This would have rankled many A-list musicians, which is why we’re not seeing someone on Beyonce’s level performing at this year’s halftime show.

Right now, a source told The New York Post, “A deal is being hammered out for Katy to play the Super Bowl.” So much for Katy not ‘paying to play’. Last year it was Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and this year, it’s Katy Perry.

What do you guys think about Katy Perry doing the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show? Would you prefer someone else do it? Or do you prefer Katy Perry’s bright, poppy, eclectic, and crazy performances? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
