Last night Khloe Kardashian guest-hosted the late night Chelsea Lately talk show where she admitted to having gotten some OJ; and we aren’t talking about the juice. She was giving the opening monologue to the show where she talked about the long-standing rumor that OJ Simpson was her father. And in true Khloe fashion, she one-ups the rumor mills by saying that she slept with him.
Now obviously this was a joke written by the writers at Chelsea Lately, but doesn’t this make you wonder what the real dirt is between OJ and the Kardashian family. You know that there has to be some juicy tea that they are hiding and using stories like these to deflect them with. And doesn’t Lamar Odom sort of remind you of OJ Simpson in a way. Think about it, they both were men who had one image of themselves that their families and the public thought them to be, and then all of a sudden their images changed overnight. For OJ his image changed when he was alleged to be the murderer of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, and for Lamar it was when it was discovered that he was a major crack head that was heading down the wrong path. It’s interesting don’t you think. Could it be that Khloe’s dysfunction with Lamar has to do with the crazy drama with one of her potential real biological fathers?!?
On another note, this clip of Chelsea Lately shows that Khloe could actually be a skilled host. The X Factor show that she was on did not play to her strengths of straight-talking and telling it like it is at all, while a show like Chelsea Lately allows her to play around with those perfectly. I could see her being on a paneled daytime talk show like The View or The Talk where she could frankly banter with the other ladies.
Or wait… isn’t Chelsea Handler’s contract with E! up at the end of 2014. Maybe she could take over Chelsea’s job. This would be a good way for her to separate herself from the falling ratings of her family show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Doesn’t it seem right in the end, our favorite Kardashian (who looks banging in that gold dress by the way) finally getting the respect she deserves by becoming a late-night host. Well at least one can dream right… .
