Rusty spent his time with his therapist, Dr. Bowman, from discussing his latest encounter with his mother to suddenly debating one of Major Crimes’ case. A teenager had gone missing. Her name is Lina and for some reason her disappearance has had an effect on Rusty.

Major Crimes was called to an expensive hotel one night and after they arrived on the scene they found the body of an Indian national. Hotel staff was alerted to something being off when his pre-ordered breakfast was still there after dinner. So they ignored the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door and found not only his body but a ransacked hotel.

The victim was both bludgeoned and even strangled. It appears someone really wanted him dead yet by this time Dr. Bowman had to ask how did this all connect to the Lina Rusty had been talking about. So Rusty had to fast forward by explaining that Lina was a diplomat’s daughter and her school and medical record along with thousands of dollars were found in the victim’s safe.

When Major Crimes tried to contact Lina’s embassy they were told that young woman was missing. She’s been gone for a while now and her father is actually currently searching for her though Rusty implies that Lina might have run away to escape her dad. And no wonder – after Raydor met with the father in person her team pointed out that he’s a suspect in the victim’s murder. His unique suitcase was picked up on the security cameras and of course the man didn’t think twice about throwing away his expensive luggage.

Though Raydor never got the chance to question to him seeing as he spouted diplomatic immunity before fleeing.

Still, he did make sure to leave prior to further investigation. Because that would have revealed that their victim was Lina’s intended fiancée. Lina’s father had arranged a marriage for her and Rusty is of the opinion that such things are just wrong.

He believes that Lina should have a right to pick her own husband so of course he immediately wrote off her father as the villain but the police don’t exactly see it that way. They wondered if Lina could have killed her fiancée and were making headwaves with her friends. They had put some pressure on the friends and one of them finally spoke up about the missing girl’s whereabouts. She told them where her friend was and when they finally arrived to retrieve her – Lina’s father had picked her up.

Lina can’t be questioned because she shares in her father’s diplomatic immunity though how she knew about her fiancée’s death so quickly is a mystery!

Lina secretly had a boyfriend who only pretended to be one of her friends. And it was this boyfriend that contacted her on the burner cell to tell her about her fiancée. It seems the two are in love and her father would have done something horrible if he found out.

Yet her father did end up getting his hands on her anyways. He was moving her out of the country when Major Crimes intercepted her by faking an accident. They didn’t do any damage but Lina was badly hurt. Her father had beaten her the moment she was returned to him. He did this because he felt that she had dishonored their family.

Her dad had learned where she was and he tried by force to get her to come with him. But thankfully Agent Howard stepped in. He couldn’t stand by and watch a young girl get publically beaten by her own father. So he protected her and then he threatened her father.

Agent Howard said he would pin a murder charge on the Councilor after he damn well made sure the other man was deported for act of terrorism. However Lina’s father didn’t kill her fiancée. He was simply dropping off the rest of the dowry to buy him some time. He was hoping the money would tide over the jilted groom while he continued searching for his daughter.

So it wasn’t Lina and it wasn’t her dad that killed someone though her father ended up saying something that incriminated someone else. He gave the police the full amount of the money he took out that day. And the bank later verified it and yet when it was counted after their retrieved it from their victim’s safe – it was short five hundred dollars.

But do you know who did have five hundred dollars on them – Lina’s secret boyfriend.

Josh was a scholarship kid and so he took some of the money when he saw it. Though that wasn’t his original intent when he went to the hotel room. He had gone there thinking he could convince Lina’s fiancée to call off the wedding and when he was laughed at – he snapped. He killed that man thinking Lina was going to be free afterwards and she felt so guilty that she turned herself in to her father. She thought she deserved to be punished for setting everything into motion and Rusty told her that she didn’t.

Rusty told her that it wasn’t her fault and he comforted her because she reminded him so much of himself. She was pushing against sexual norms and trying to find herself just like him. And once he realized that he felt like he was being selfish. But Dr. Bowman told him that what he was feeling was empathy and that it wasn’t a bad trait to have.

Rusty was curious about what would happen to Lina now and Raydor had assured him that Lina was going to be taken care of… like he was.

Rusty later came out (kind of) to the squad and surprise they always knew. They didn’t say anything because they wanted to wait for Rusty to tell them when he’s ready and he’s nearly there. He still has a few leftover hang-ups to deal with but he’ll get over them – he knows that he’s loved.

 THE END!!
