Paul Walker Was Too Busy To Care For Daughter Meadow: Asked Mother To Be Guardian BEFORE He Died

According to a new exclusive from TMZ, Paul Walker actually asked his mother to be his teenage daughter’s guardian before he died in a car crash. Everyone was under the impression that Cheryl Walker [Paul’s mother] was getting custody of 15-year-old Meadow Walker only because Paul stipulated it in his will, not because she technically already had custody.

The report from TMZ details that Paul told his mother that he was too busy to properly take care of his young daughter, and requested his mother to take full custody. At this point, Meadow had already been living with Paul for a few years, ever since she moved away from her alcoholic mother in 2011.

Anyway, Paul apparently initially approached his mother last fall and asked her to retire from her nursing job to start taking care of Meadow. And Meadow actually moved in with his mother in August, and they were technically living together three months before Paul died. So contrary to popular opinion, Meadow was not living with Paul at the time of Paul’s death, even though he still had technical legal guardianship over her.

The report also adds that Paul even tried to hire nannies to take care of Meadow part-time whenever Cheryl had to work as a nurse and he had an acting job, but apparently it wasn’t cutting the slack. So finally, he just gave up and on the morning of his death, reportedly asked his mother to start taking care of Meadow full-time. He even called other family members and notified them of his decision, letting them know that Cheryl had agreed. Of course, it’s all a moot point now, in the wake of the tragic and unforeseen circumstances that followed.
