Long-distance relationships rarely last, especially when one half of the couple is ostensibly a major celebrity – and being Kate Middleton’s sister qualifies. Pippa Middleton used to be one of the most eligible bachelorettes in the world before she was snatched up by Nico Jackson. There were plenty of rumors stating that Pippa and her stockbroker boyfriend were getting engaged and eloping, probably as an effort to stay in the limelight.
However, new reports suggest that instead of getting engaged, Nico is actually moving to Switzerland for a new job. Uh-oh.
He’s reportedly planning to work for a hedge fund in Switzerland, which means that he and Pippa are headed for splitsville. Of course, sources close to the couple have denied a breakup, claiming that they are still very much a couple. But if Nico goes through with the move, how much longer will that last?
There are many different versions to the ‘truth’ here, and it all depends on which perspective you use. Pippa might have been the one to initiate a breakup, and this is Nico’s way of moving away to avoid any embarrassment and press attention. Or perhaps Nico’s sick of Pippa’s famewhore antics, and wants a girlfriend with a real job. There is also the possibility that Nico doesn’t want to be married to the sister of Kate Middleton with all the attention that brings. Either way, they may continue the charade for a few months and then break up for good.
It’s also possible that Nico just got a great job opportunity in another country that he couldn’t turn down, and he and Pippa truly are planning on doing the long-distance relationship thing. But I think if he was serious about Pippa, he’d either be taking her with him or at least proposing to her. If he hasn’t done either – and Pippa’s staying in England – then it’s just a matter of time before they break up, np?
