Revenge season 4 episode 8 ‘Contact’ spoilers are finally getting down to the nitty gritty aspects of Amanda’s relationship with her father, David Clarke, and her feelings over his abandonment. All these years of Revenge intrigue, Emily/Amanda thought that David was dead, and she hatched plot after plot to get revenge on the people she held responsible for her father’s downfall and [presumed] death. She cleared his name, she got tortured, she manipulated, and she did all that in his name. But now, he’s alive, and Emily finally has to own up to her actions.
The preview promo sneak peek video for Revenge Season 4 Episode 8 ‘Contact’ shows Victoria Grayson in a hospital, with David and Emily/Amanda discussing what to do. Emily’s clearly arguing against helping Victoria, telling David that she took everything from them. Then, she finally confronts David about how he abandoned her all these years, and asks him why he stood by and did nothing while she suffered so much.
It’s an extremely valid question, and one that the show still hasn’t answered satisfactorily. The entire premise of Revenge has been built on Amanda Clarke getting revenge for her father’s death, but now that it turns out that her father was never dead in the first place, we go right back to the starting point – with a few more casualties and David’s name cleared, mind you.
What do you guys think will happen? Will David and his daughter have a tearful reconciliation? Or will the confrontation get more tense and argumentative, ending with either of them getting hurt?
