We’ve just heard word that Ricky Martin, 42, has split up from Carlos Gonzalez Abella. The couple was together for three years but has decided to mutually end their relationship together, as things are no longer working out. A spokesperson for Ricky released a bland, cookie cutter statement speaking to the breakup. The statement reads, “Ricky and Carlos have mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be united by friendship and their shared experience.”
That statement is all we have to go on for the moment, but we have to ask . . . What caused them to breakup? Just tired of each other? No love anymore? Could Carlos have been getting tired assisting Ricky in the raising of his two boys, Matteo and Valentino? More news might reveal itself in the coming days, but their relationship wasn’t incredibly high profile, so unless their split was laced with some epic drama, I have a feeling this breakup will fade away peacefully.
Before the New Year began, Ricky tweeted, “Changes oh changes. So, you are waiting to be ready??? Watch out, you can be waiting all your life. #GODoit ;0)” I love celebrities’ proclivity to release highly cryptic, but sort of blatant, tweets before a split; I suppose we should’ve seen this one coming.
