Tonight on the USA Network Rush returns with another episode of its first season called, “Get Lucky” On tonight’s show Rush reconnects with Sarah.
For those of you not familiar with the show, RUSH examines the world of renegade physician Dr. William Rush (Tom Ellis, “Miranda”), a “medical fixer” who privately caters to LA’s elite and whose service comes with a hefty price tag. Though the hard-partying doctor claims that he doesn’t make judgments about his less-than-squeaky-clean clients, he’s not immune to the ugliness that he encounters.

On tonight’s episode when Rush reconnects with Sarah, he finds that she has changed and isn’t the same person as he remembers her; Alex may be in over his head.

RECAP: Rush was treating a patient that had refused to stopped gambling for inane like bathroom breaks when that patient surprised him. The other man considers Rush to be lucky and even hired Rush for an extra ten grand to merely stand by his side and work his unknown magic. But Rush broke their agreement and loss his chance at the money because Sarah called him in the middle of the game.
Sarah for some odd reason wants to meet up with Rush for lunch. And though he’s happy she called – he doesn’t understand what her offer means. The last time he checked she was in a relationship with someone else. So what’s up with the lunch?
Rush tried asking Alex and his best friend was just as much in the dark as he was. Though to be fair Alex’s focus wasn’t really on Sarah so much as he was paying attention to Rush phone call with Eve. Since last week’s taste of Rush’s life, Alex has become envious of Rush’s freedom. So when he heard that Rush was going to turn down treating a famous rapper in order to talk about Sarah some more – he made Rush choose the client and bring him along.
Alex enjoyed meeting the rapper though there were some sticky moments here and there throughout the introduction. And then he managed to accept an invitation to a party on both his and Rush’s behalf. Alex later said he just needed a break from the wife and kids routine and that he wanted one night to have fun. However Rush remained apprehensive about letting Alex go to this party. They both know that Alex’s wife doesn’t like him and this party is only going to make her want to write him off once she finds out. So he doesn’t want to risk it.
Rush and Sarah did meet up and they even shared a cordial drink. Which frankly he didn’t have a chance of when last they met. But then his phone rang right when they were talking and it was getting good. It seems Sarah has broken up with her boyfriend and just when he was going to find out why she wanted to tell him – she told him to pick the client on the other end of the line. She could wait…
The client was a Texan beauty queen who couldn’t be older than 8. Rush had brought Sarah with him and both of them were appalled at the little’s girl’s friend. All the man wanted was for the girl to go back to the competition so Sarah simply had to rip into him. His daughter nearly died from dry drowning and is going to need to be put on oxygen tank. So to answer his question – his daughter is not going to return to the stage.
Rush was proud of Sarah defending the little girl and in return Sarah was proud about Rush’s composure. And, well, mutual admiration led to them sleeping together. Though afterwards Sarah was kind of a guy about it. As in she didn’t want to talk – just leave.
Rush was pretty bummed out and after he had a run-in with Eve’s abusive ex – he felt like he needed a break from it all and that’s where the party with Alex came in. Alex had convinced him they were going to be enjoying the high life and unfortunately they walked into the middle of a marital spat. The so-called bad-ass rapper wasn’t getting into bar fights like he had claimed. The truth is his wife beats him whenever she learns he stepped out on her.
So Alex and Rush saw the wife pummeling her husband the rapper with her stiletto shoe and they then had to agree not to say a word about what they witnessed. Yet someone did say something about the incident and word quickly spread to the rapper’s biggest rival.
It wasn’t Alex’s fault though. He was too busy at the time cheating on his wife with some random hook-up. Sadly, for Alex a little thing like alibi doesn’t really carry that much weight to someone like a rapper that’s just loss face in front of his peers. The rapper started shooting people inside of the club and he would have shot Alex as well if Rush hadn’t then pulled a gun on the other man.
Rush got Alex out of there with only a minor injury to the back of the head and the two best friends swore they weren’t going to tell anyone about that night. But before he could enter his home and return to some sort of normal life – Alex filled Rush in on Sarah’s secret. He told home that she’s been discussing fertility treatments with Laurel and Rush could guess why.
Rush later confronted Sarah on her cancer and the two of them realized they needed to talk.
Eve found a new friend while Rush was busy elsewhere. She’s been scared about her ex returning to hurt her so she’s been practicing using a gun and Rush’s dealer friend has been helping. If this doesn’t seem like a good idea to you is because it isn’t!
