Tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow begins with the Headless Horseman dragging Ichabod’s wife Katrina to circle in the wood where Henry is waiting.  Henry reveals that Abraham has been waiting a lot time to be with her and they have to sanctify their bodies.  Just as the headless horseman is about to behead Katrina…Ichabod wakes up.  He reveals to Abby that he was having another nightmare about Katrina, he can’t rest until knows what he is going to do with her.  Abby reminds him that they have to find Katrina before they can save her, she directs his attention to a wall on the board covered in strings where they are trying to narrow down the location.

Abby receives a message and says that she has to head to the station, they have appointed a new sheriff, it’s a woman.  Abby has to go meet her.  She arrives at the station and Sheriff Reyes scolds her for being late.  She has read Abby’s file, and she confesses to Abby that she knew her mother when she was young.  And, she announces she is going to “bring sanity back to Sleepy Hollow.”

Ichabod rushes to the police station, he reveals that when Katrina and Abraham were engaged they were residing at his estate in Willow Point.  He shows her where Willow Point is located on the map, and they rush there to see if Ichabod took her to that location.  By the time they arrive at the estate it’s dark, and they see the horseman tying up his horse outside.  Ichabod catches a glimpse of Katrina inside.  He wants to rescue her, but Abby convinces him to wait and says it is suicide to walk in to his house.

Abby and Ichabod head back to the cabin and begin brainstorming with Jenny a plan of attack.  Ichabod shows them a story in the codex, and explains that Benjamin Franklin was working on creating a creature called The Kindred that would be able to kill the headless horseman.  Jenny is positive it will work, because they can use the horseman’s head.  But, Abby is skeptical, if they complete the spell that will mean they create another monster that is even more powerful than the headless horseman.  She points out that they may not be able to control The Kindred and it could turn on them, Ichabod explains that it is their best option, Abby caves and agrees.  Abby sends Jenny to get their cache of weapons in the tunnel, if they are making The Kindred she wants to be prepared.  As Jenny leaves she reminds them that the last time they tried to save Katrina, it didn’t end well.

Meanwhile, Abraham and Katrina are arguing, Katrina is furious that he told her Ichabod was dead when he wasn’t.  Abraham points out that Ichabod has moved on, and he cares about Abby more than he ever cared about her.  Abraham says he has a future planned for them, but Katrina insists she will never go willingly.

Abby pays Captain Irving a visit in jail.  She informs Irving that the horseman is back and he has taken Crane’s wife.  She reassures him that they have a plan and they are going to need the horseman’s head.  He reveals that he hid it in a safety deposit box at a bank.  Abby and Ichabod head to the bank to get the head to raise The Kindred.  After Ichabod curses out the bank teller for trying to get him to sign up for a credit card, they retrieve the head from Irving’s deposit box.

Meanwhile, Jenny is getting the weapons out of the tunnels and Sheriff Reyes catches her carrying a bag of guns through the archive room.  She arrests her and throws her in jail, and confiscates their guns.  Abby and Ichabod head to the jail but Reyes is not budging and refuses to release Jenny.  Then she lays in to Ichabod and says that the will no longer be needing a “history consultant.”

Abby and Ichabod head down in to the tunnels to find where Ben Franklin hid The Kindred.  They are getting lost trying to follow the directions in the book.  After a run-in with a flock of bats, Abby has a melt-down and confesses that the tunnels remind her of Purgatory.  She admits that the only thing that saved her in Purgatory was the thought of Crane, and Crane is her biggest weakness.  After their heart-felt moment they find a plaque hidden in the wall titled The Kindred.  Abby pushes a button on the plaque and the wall opens up and coffin rolls out.

Ichabod and Abby head to the woods with The Kindred and Ichabod begins chanting from the book in front of the house where Katrina is being held captive.  While he is chanting outside, Katrina is trying to reason with Abraham inside.  She warns him that if he takes her now he will spend an eternity knowing that she’s not there on her own free will.  Abraham hears thunder outside and rushes out of the door to stop Ichabod, The Kindred finally awakens just in time to stop the headless horseman from beheading Ichabod.

While The Kindred battles the headless horseman, Ichabod runs inside to rescue Katrina.  After he unties her, Katrina reveals that she isn’t leaving, she says she is staying with the horseman because if she leaves he will kill everyone while he is searching for her.  She also tells Ichabod that there is a greater plan in motion and Abraham and Henry are working together to raise the Mulloch.  Meanwhile, Abby is outside trying to subdue the headless horseman and the horseman of war, The Kindred comes to her rescue.  Inside, Katrina insists she isn’t leaving without their son Henry, she thinks she can still save him.   Abby rushes in to the house and tells Ichabod they are out of time, he kisses Katrina good-bye and they climb in the car and get the hell out of dodge while The kindred battles the demons.

Abraham returns to the house and is shocked to see that Katrina is still there and didn’t escape, she explains that she stayed because she knew he would just chase her down again.  Once they are safe, Ichabod reveals that he learned Abraham and Henry are bring Mulloch back.  Abby goes to the jail to check on her sister Jenny, she tells her that she is working on getting her out, but the new sheriff means business.  She thanks her for taking one for the team, the guard arrives to take Jenny away and she warns her sister not to wait thirteen years to come break her out again.  Captain Irving has been transferred to the mental ward, Sheriff Reyes arrives and demands to know why there are headless bodies popping up.  Henry arrives in his room and announces that he is Irving’s lawyer and kicks Reyes out of his room.
