LIVE RECAP:

Kira is still trapped in the dungeon amongst a pile of bones. She walks over to the prison door and pushes it open. She calls for Scott. No answer. She goes to investigate, and she continues to call out his name. She comes face-to-face with a Berserker and, as it forces her against the cave wall, she sees Scott’s tattoo. In this moment, Kira understands that Scott has been turned into a Berserker.

Kate comes in and tells Kira how she can create the Berserkers. She tells her that when she was first turned, she found her way to this temple and the Berserkers were waiting for her. She says that she quickly discovered that they not only responded to her . . . they also listened to her commands. And then she discovered that she could create new ones as well. To them, she’s known as La Loba. Or, the Bone Woman.

Stiles argues with his father. Stiles wants to go to Mexico to save Scott and Kira. Sheriff wants to take a more methodical approach, but Stiles gets antsy.

Derek and Braeden prepare their weapons to go to Mexico. Derek mourns the loss of his powers. He feels as if he won’t be returning from this mission alive. Braeden says that she’s not okay with him thinking like this.

Peter walks down the stairs and says that in order to kill Berserkers they’re going to need a lot of manpower.

Malia and Stiles prepare to sneak down to Mexico. Liam’s waiting for them as well. He wants to help, but Stiles is afraid to take him down there when it’s the full moon.

Everyone prepares to leave. The gang meets in a garage. Peter shows up, too. Peter says that everyone needs to get a move on, immediately, because there’s no telling what Kate’s cooking up. Perhaps, with all her power, she’s planning on harnessing the full moon’s power to steal Scott’s True Alpha power. But nobody can be sure. Stiles says that nobody can leave, however, until Lydia arrives. They need her.

Lydia is in the school hallway. She opens her locker, pulls out a sweater, smells it, and says, “I hope this works.” Next, she’s attacked by a Berserker. She dodges the punch just in time.

Stiles is trying to contact Lydia. We find out that Lydia was getting a piece of clothing to help track their scents.

Peter and Malia head down to Mexico in the same car.

Liam calls Mason to see if he has seen Lydia around. Mason says that her car is still there and that he’ll look around for her.

They handcuff Liam in the back of the prison car. Derek hands him his family’s secret talisman that supposedly helps betas gain control. Everyone knows, however, that this token is just a gimmick. A placebo.

Malia and Peter drive to Mexico. They talk about what to expect, and Peter tells her that things are going to get messy. It’s inevitable.

In the other car, Liam begins to shift beneath the power of the full moon. He says, “Whatever you’re going to teach me, you better start now.”

Kira has been stabbed. She’s bleeding profusely. A vision of her mother visits her, and she says that she needs to heal, but Kira doesn’t know how. Her mother says that she’s always told her that foxes and wolves don’t get along — but that they are very similar creatures. Kira realizes that, in order to heal, she needs to trigger pain. She does and, soon, she begins to heal.

Meanwhile, Mason and Lydia have been trapped in the school by the Berserker. Their cellphones have been taken.

Derek attempts to help Liam gain control. He teaches him the mantra, “Alpha, Beta, Omega,” but it’s doesn’t work to ground him in his human form. Liam begins to break out of the handcuffs.

Derek tells Braeden to continue driving. She yells, “We’re almost there.”

In Malia’s car, Peter tells her that, if she’s to succeed in fighting the Berserkers, she’ll have to summon the beast inside of her — not attempt to remain human.

Liam manages to stay in control after Stiles gives him Satomi’s mantra: “The Sun, The Moon, The Truth.”

They pull up to the location. A Berserker grabs Derek out of the van and a stabs him multiple times. He’s badly injured. He tells the others to go after Scott. Braeden remains by his side. Derek says, “Lydia was right.” He’s, of course, referring to her prediction of his death. Perhaps it’s proving true.

The gang runs through the temple. In the temple, Stiles manages to get cell service. His dad calls. He’s furious, but he says that he needs to do everything he can to save his friends. Stiles tells his dad to go help Lydia and Mason at the school — he thinks they’re trapped there.

Braeden tells Derek that she’s not going to let him die.

Kate approaches with a Berserker. Braeden readies her shotgun.

In the school, Mason and Lydia try to escape, but the Berserker is blocking the exit out of the basement.

Liam and Malia run into a Berserker.

Meanwhile, Braeden encounters a run in with her own. The Berserker picks her up by the neck when, suddenly, a caravan of werewolf hunters show up. Chris and Parrish are with them. They, alongside the Mexican werewolf hunters, open fire on Kate and the Berserker.

Stiles locates Kira. She tells him that Kate turned Scott into a Berserker. Stiles realizes that that’s why they stopped Lydia from coming along because she probably would’ve been able to sense that Scott was trapped by the Berserker energy and, effectively, thwart their plan. Kira says that they need to be careful or they could possibly kill him.

Braeden runs over to Derek. He closes his eyes . . . he seems to drift away, perhaps into his death.

Lydia finds a baseball bat. Mason charges the Berserker. They both attack the Berserker. Sheriff shows up and throws a grenade at the Berserker. He blows him up.

Lydia tells Sheriff Stilinski that something is all wrong, that this has all been a distraction. They wanted her to stay in Beacon Hills. “Because you knew they were trying to kill somebody,” says Sheriff S. Lydia nods. “Scott.”

The gang finds Berserker Scott. Scott picks up Liam by the throat. Liam attempts to get through to Scott, and he does. Scott sheds his Berserker garb. He then realizes that Peter was up to all of this, that he was the one who taught Kate how to create the Berserkers.

They have a face off. In their full werewolf forms, they duke it out.

Kate is about to fight the head of the Calaveras when a black wolf jumps out of nowhere. It attacks her. The wolf’s eyes flash blue and, soon, transforms into a human man. It’s Derek.

Kate looks at him in horror. “But you were dead,” she says. Derek says, “No. Evolving.”

Chris shoots Kate with a special bullet.

Meanwhile, Peter and Scott continue to battle. Ultimately, Scott comes out on top. Before punching him in the face with a disastrous blow, Scott says, “You were never an Alpha, Peter. But you were always a monster.”

Chris chases after Kate, but doesn’t have it in him to kill his sister. She gets away.

The sun rises. Chris tells them that there’s enough yellow wolfsbane in Peter’s system to keep him at bay for the trip home. Chris also says that he made a deal with the Calaveras that they’d leave Scott and his friends along so long as he helps them catch Kate.

Braeden tells Derek that she’s been chasing someone for a long time . . . goes by a codename: The Desert Wolf.

Kira is given a “tail,” an talisman carved out of a piece of obsidian from Mexico. Her first tail.

Lydia offers to help Parrish find out what kind of supernatural creature he is.

Peter is taken to the special floor of Eichen House. He’s put in the same cell as the Third Eyed Man. Peter asks, “Who the hell are you?” The man says, “I could tell you, but it’d be much easier if I just showed you.”

Peter stares into the man’s third eye and when it opens, Peter screams in terror.
