Up on the ark, Jaha says they have done everything they can but life on the ark will not be possible after 51 more hours. He tells the survivors they can take comfort in the 100’s survival and says that will be their legacy. He says he’s grateful and proud for that. Kane nods. They ask what they should do now that time is literally running out. Jaha says to look inside and find your peace. He says all resources are free for all – no rationing – everyone can have what they want.

Jaha asks Abbey if she’s all right and she says she has a patient to see to and leaves. Kane asks Jaha if it’s waste to waste rations just in case. Jaha says their fate is decided but Kane says he has to find a solution. Jaha tells him if he wants to spend his final moments running simulations, that’s okay, but he’s going to drink good Scotch and spend time with his family. He shakes Kane’s hand and goes.

At the kids’ camp, they are building land mines. Bellamy worries about the wasted gunpowder. He tells Raven she can’t go after Finn and Clarke. There’s a gunshot from a sentry that fell asleep. He yells at the guy and says that wasted bullet is one less Grounder. He yells at all of them that their lives are at risk and that Clarke, Finn and Monty are likely dead. He tells them no guns will leave the camp because it’s the only thing keeping them alive. He yells at them to get back to work.

A Grounder sharpens his sword. Anya sits by the fire and Clarke is nearby glaring at her. Tristan shows up out of the blue and says the left flank is vulnerable. He asks Clarke if she’s the one beating them and says that he’s been sent to slaughter the kids. He tells Anya he’s taking over and orders his men to go feed his rangers.

He says they march on the invaders camp at first light and will make quick work. He says he’ll start with Clarke and pulls a knife but then Anya sees a signal fire. Tristan says it’s Reapers. A man walks back into camp with a mask on his head and Anya asks him if the boy is dead. He nods yes and Anya tells him to kill Clarke. He yanks her chain, knocks her out then comes for her with a knife.

Bellamy tells Jasper he wants to go after them too, but he’s doing what he thinks is right for the group. Jasper says he should have thought about that when Octavia went missing. Myles is groaning in pain and begging for water. Bellamy goes to get him some. While he’s gone, Murphy sneaks in and puts a bag over Myles’ head and says this is for tying the noose they hung me with. He says to say hi to Colin for me.

There’s a noise and Jasper comes down and sees him. Murphy says he was trying to help him – he’s hidden the bag. They each go for the gun and then Murphy says that Myles tried to kill him. Jasper tells him it’s cool and Murphy says you know what will happen if you tell Bellamy. The channel was open and Bellamy heard this and says – tells Bellamy what. He tells Jasper to hand over the radio. He goes for Jasper and knocks him out. Bellamy runs to the doors that Jasper has locked and he says if he tries to be a hero, Jasper will die.

Clarke is taken on horseback by the masked assassin. They ride at a harsh pace when she comes to. They are near the signal fire. He gets off the horse then pulls her down and cuts her bonds, freeing her. She sees Finn there waiting and runs to him and hugs him. She’s stunned. She asks how this happened. He looks to the masked guy – it’s Lincoln.

Finn says Lincoln saved his life and killed one of his own to save him. She asks if he set the signal fire and he says he needed the distraction. He tells them that they have to go so Anya doesn’t catch and kill them. He sends the horse off in one direction and they run in another. Lincoln, Clarke and Finn hide in the trees from Anya and Tristan.

Lincoln says they are close to a place the others won’t follow. He tells them there is a tunnel that will take them close to their camp. Anya shoots arrows and shouts for Lincoln. Tristan calls to her and says they are headed to the mine and they need to get them if the mine doesn’t first.

On the ark, Abbey is operating and her patient is crashing. She starts CPR but they tell her she’s wasting her time. There is no epi. Jackson turns off the flatline signal machine and tells Abbey to let her go. She stops CPR and steps back, exhausted and upset. She says she failed. He says she did the best she could and always does.

She says Clarke is going to hate her forever and blames her for her father’s death and says now she can never make that right or hug her. She’s in tears. She says she can’t protect Clarke anymore. He says that Clarke doesn’t hate her, but is strong willed and that was the gift she gave her that’s protecting her and will keep her alive on the ground. She thanks Jackson and hugs him. He leaves and she breaks down.

Octavia runs up to Bellamy and asks about Jasper. She says that Murphy is a killer and screams at the door that she will kill him if he hurts Jasper. She yells at her brother that he’s doing nothing. Raven comes up and says she found a loose panel and can get in. Octavia looks ashamed and says she’s sorry. Bellamy asks Murphy to trade Jasper for him since he’s the one Murphy is mad at.

Octavia says he’ll kill him but Bellamy says he’ll kill Jasper if he doesn’t make the swap. The door opens and the kids hold up their guns. Murphy says he has to 10 to come inside, alone and unarmed. Bellamy tells Octavia to keep everyone working since the Grounders are still coming. He walks in and Murphy tosses Jasper out and closes the door back up.

In the mines, Lincoln lights a fire and Finn says they didn’t follow them. Lincoln says Reapers use these tunnels and Finn asks what a Reaper is. Lincoln says – pray you never find out. Clarke checks out Lincoln’s wound and asks why he’s helping them. Finn asks if it’s just about Octavia. She asks for his knife and tells Finn to heat the blade. Lincoln says they are soft and snaps off the arrow.

He tells them that his people are wrong for hunting them down. She cauterizes the wound with the hot knife while he struggles to stay silent. Raven and Jasper sneak through the hatch and she tells him to be quiet. He says they lost Clarke and can’t lose Bellamy too. Bellamy and Murphy are right above them and she sees there are fuel tanks there and says no shooting. They realize they can use this to make more bombs if they survive.

Octavia radios for Bellamy and asks if he’s okay. Murphy fires a shot and tells him to tie a loop. He tells Octavia to get the others back to work and tell Raven to hurry her ass up. Jasper tells Raven to get the door opened. He has Bellamy makes a noose for himself. Bellamy asks if he wants an apology. He says he’s sorry. Murphy says he has it all wrong and says he doesn’t want him to say anything, but wants him to feel what he felt then die. The noose swings above his head forbiddingly.

Jaha is boozing it up in the ark looking at old videos of Wells and Clarke as young kids. They are cute. They ask him how the ark stays in space. Clarke says her dad says it’s the thrusters. This gives Jaha an idea. He says – yes – and runs off.

In the cave, bats are squeeking and freaking them out. Lincoln has a map of the caves he calls spoils of war. Clarke hears a chanty sort of sound and asks what it is. Lincoln says – Reapers – and snuffs their torch at once.

Murphy tells Bellamy to stand and put the noose on his neck. Bellamy says this is insane because the Grounders are coming. He shoots at him again. Jasper tells Raven to hurry but she says the wrong wire could mean disaster. Bellamy puts the noose over his head. Murphy mocks him and says he thought he was stronger than him and one of his friends would come to his rescue. Murphy pulls the other end of the rope and tightens it until he’s choking.

Lincoln tells the other two the only way to get to their friends before Tristan attacks, it’s the only way. They peek down a tunnel and see the Reapers and some items of interest. Clarke asks Lincoln what the hell this is. Lincoln tells them to take one tunnel and go and says he will lead the Reapers away. He says wait until they follow him, then run.

Clarke is worried about him but he says they have to get to the camp and get everyone there before they show up. The Reapers look to be cannibals. One comes over and Clarke asks where they need to go. He says to use the map and for the group to head to the sea to Luna’s camp and say that Lincoln sent them. He says they will take care of them and to keep Octavia safe.

Lincoln kills one Reaper then takes off at a run and the others follow. Clarke sees an arm in one of the carts and they look and see people there. They’re alive. They linger too long and a Reaper sneaks up on them. Finn bashes the guy in the head until he’s dead. The Reapers are coming back and Clarke tells Finn they have to go and tries to pull him up.

Murphy tells Bellamy that he’s a coward and that he learned that the day he kicked the crate out from under him. Raven is ready and tells Jasper to get ready to attack. Murphy says that he was just giving the others what they wanted and Bellamy admits he should have stopped them. Bellamy says the others won’t let Murphy just walk out and he says with Clarke and Bellamy dead, he can lead. He calls Octavia a Grounder pounder and they scuffle.

There’s a spark and Raven squeals. Murphy thinks it’s Octavia coming and when he realizes there are no more bullets, kicks the crate out from under Bellamy who grabs for the noose and struggles while choking. Murphy knocks him out and Jasper calls out. Murphy climbs up the ladder and closes the hatch. The door opens and the others rush in and cut Bellamy down. He’s okay.

Murphy digs through bullets upstairs and finds one and loads it. Bellamy screams at him that it’s over and to give up. They try to break through the hatch and Murphy sees the can of gun powder.

Clarke and Finn burst out into the woods and she asks what the hell was going on and why those people were being kept alive. She says the more she learns about earth, the less she likes it. Finn washes the blood off his hands and she tells him he did what he had to do – she says they all have. Finn tells her that he loves her and is in love with her. Clarke tells him that he broke her heart. She says she’s sorry but she just can’t. They hear gunfire from the camp and she says they’re too late. They take off at a run.

Murphy shot the gunpowder can and burst a hole in the building and runs off. Jasper asks if they should go after him and he says he knows how to make an exit. Bellamy says no and says the Grounders will take care of him and says they are going after Clarke and the others. Jasper hugs him and says thanks. But then they get a call on the walkie that says there is movement. They see it’s Clarke and Finn and open the gate.

Jasper hugs her and asks where Monty is. Finn says they have to run now because the Grounders are coming – an army of them. He asks where they would go and Finn explains there is an ocean and Lincoln says there are people there to help them. Bellamy says they can’t trust a Grounder. He says this is there ground and they have to protect. Bellamy does a Braveheart speech and says they are on the ground now and are Grounders now and says – let them come.

Clarke says Bellamy is right and if they leave, they may never be this safe again. She says they could face something worse tomorrow. She says nonetheless, they have to go now. She says grab what you can so we can leave tonight. Finn tells Octavia that Lincoln is gone. Raven staggers up begging for help – Murphy shot her. Bellamy says leaving is a mistake but Clarke says she thinks it’s the right thing to do. The kids all scramble to pack in a hurry.

In the ark, Kane thinks about jettisoning a couple of sections. Sinclair tells him nothing will work. Jaha bursts in and asks if they’ve thought about not saving the ark. Abbey asks what this is about and Jaha says it’s about going home. He says they can die in space or probably die trying to get to the ground. Kane says they have no more exodus ships but Jaha says they have one – they call it the ark.

He asks Sinclair what would happen if they use the thruster to propel into the atmosphere. He says it would break into its twelve initial stations and 95% of the stations would explode. Jaha asks if he can pinpoint which 5% won’t. Kane asks if they’re really going to do this and Jaha asks if he has a better idea. He asks Abbey if she’s ready to see her daughter again.
