Tonight’s episode of The Americans begins with a truck arriving at the training camp, driven by Phillip. The guard checks his ID and refers to him as “Tom.” The guard climbs into the back of the truck to inspect his cargo, but doesn’t see Elizabeth hiding behind some crates.

Once inside the camp Phillip and Elizabeth separate, and began doing recon and taking pictures. They both kill a few guards and then make a beeline out of the camp. The guard opens the gate, completely clueless of what just happened, and lets the truck leave without any incident.

Phillip and Elizabeth head to the woods where they left the real truck driver tied to a tree and realize that he died while they were gone. Phillip thought he would survive a few days but apparently he didn’t.

Stan meets with a group of men discussing a top secret project “Harvey” administered by the Department of Defense. The men are skeptical about how Stan has landed a meeting with them. He wants to know about “Project Harvey.” One of the men state they specialize in stealth, helping submarines and planes move below the radar. He asks the men if Anton is the “key to their project.” The men reassure him that the Soviets will have to kidnap a hell of a lot of people to get enough information to piece together Project Harvey.

Paige manages to convince her Mom and Dad to attend her new church with her. Phillip appears to be drawn into the sermon. Afterwards, a woman hugs Paige and introducers herself to Paige’s parents and tells them how much of a “blessing” she is. She wants Paige to go on a missionary trip with them and mention that she is making “generous donations.”

Stan enlists the assistance of Martha. He wants her to get information on everyone who attended a meeting for Project Harvey in Virginia. Military companies were bidding on the project to see who would be developing it.

Paige, Elizabeth, and Phillip head home and gets screamed at for donating $600 to the church. She was supposed to be saving that money for a trip to Europe. Phillip has a meltdown when Paige rolls her eyes at him and rips pages out of her Bible and asks her how she can “respect Jesus but not us?” Phillip receives an emergency call from Fred, Elizabeth tries to talk to him before he leaves but he isn’t hearing it.

Phillip meets with Fred and he reveals that the FBI called him and wants to meet with him tomorrow in DC. He tells Phillip not to worry about him, Emmett taught him how to handle this situation. Phillip tells him that they are working together now and he needs to trust him like he did with Emmett. Phillip reveals to Fred that the propeller plans that he stole were fake and over 100 Soviet soldiers died because of them.

Elizabeth wakes Paige up in the middle of the night and tells her to “get up.” She brings her downstairs and tells her to clean the refrigerator, mop the floor, and fold the laundry in the basement. Since Paige wants to be a grown up and choose how she spends her money, then she can act like a grown-up and clean the house in the middle of the night even though she doesn’t want to.

Agent Gaad pays Arkady a visit and tells him that he is in a lot of trouble because of the murder and threatens Arkady that if he winds up losing his job or going to jail he will release Frank Peterson’s testimony about being tortured by two Soviets and “heads will roll.”

Stan begins meeting with men that could potentially be kidnapped by the Soviets about Project Harvey. He preps them on the danger they are in and how to protect themselves from the Soviets. Fred is one of the men he meets with and Stan informs him that he is vulnerable to the Soviets. Stan swears he would never “betray his country.”

Elizabeth is at an AA meeting, listening to a woman’s testimony of staying sober for two years.

Martha hands over a box of files to Stan regarding the murders of Emmett and his family. Stan thinks there is a chance they could be related to the murder that Gaad is going down for.

After the meeting Elizabeth meets with the woman that has been sober for two years. They are bonding over their stories of recovery. The woman reveals that she works on an assembly line for a company called Northrup and it’s super high security because they do government jobs.

Martha arrives at home and is surprised to find Clarke sitting in her living-room. She is concerned that he is drinking because he never drinks, she knows something is wrong. Clarke says that he wishes he could be more honest with her about his job. Martha says it is “okay that he has moods and she loves all of him.” Clarke insists that the world is an ugly place full of cruel people. Then he plays the recordings she gave him from Gaad’s office. Martha is scared for Gaad and feels sorry for him. Clarke tells her that “Gaad is not her friend,” and then plays a recording of Glaad talking about how ugly Martha is. She is clearly hurt. Clarke pours her a drink and she cries. He comforts her and tells her that he “loves the way she looks.” Clarke informs Martha that he thinks there is a leak in her office that is leaking information about a stealth program. Martha wants to help him find the leak.

Stan arrives home from work and finds his wife Sandra packing her bags. She says she is going away with a man she met for a few days. They have had an emotional connection for a while and they want to see if it is something more. Stan is shocked that she is telling him she is going to have an affair. She points out that he has been having one for months, he is even more shocked that she knows about his affair. He asks her if she is leaving him, she says she isn’t going to “sit around and wait for him to get the courage to leave her.”

Phillip puts on a pair of gloves and walks into Paige’s church in the middle of the night, locking the door behind him. He finds a preacher in the office in the back, and the preacher is surprised to see him. Phillip tells the preacher he “wants him to stay away from his daughter.” The preacher says he can’t turn Paige away from the Church. He tells Phillip the best thing he can do for Paige is find a way to deal with his anger. The preacher tells him there is “grace and forgiveness for everyone,” Phillip turns around and walks out of the Church without lying a finger on the preacher.
