Nikki Ferrell is not happy with the way the Bachelorette runs things, even though she is well acquainted with their methods. Despite the fact that she appeared on the Bachelor last season, Nikki is calling out the producers of the reality show for manipulating events to increase ratings. More specifically, she’s slamming the Bachelorette producers for prodding Nick Viall to admit on national TV that Andi Dorfman slept with him, but still chose to go with Josh Murray in the end.
Nick told Andi [in full view of the cameras], “Knowing how in love with you I was, if you weren’t in love with me, I’m not sure why you made love with me.”
Andi called his comment ‘below the belt’, stating that it should have been kept private. However, Nikki is indignant on Andi’s behalf, and took to Twitter to voice her anger. She wrote, “Gee I wonder who told Nick to say that….How the producers of @BachelorABC sleep at night is beyond me. #trash.”
Hmm.. talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Maybe Nikki should have thought twice before calling the producers ‘trash’? That same ‘trash’ is what gave you a job and kept you in the spotlight for so long, and it’s the only reason your voice has a platform right now. Yes, there’s little they can do now to make Nikki’s life miserable, but she’s a tad bit hypocritical for calling them out when she herself agreed to their methods while she was on the show.
Trust me, everyone who appears on the Bachelor or Bachelorette is used to the behind-the-scenes manipulation, and they all agree to it. That’s the price of agreeing to be on the show, so I don’t think Nikki has any right to call them ‘trash’. They do what they do for ratings and money, and I guarantee that Nick and Andi got paid handsomely for cooking up that little piece of drama. There are no losers in this situation – well, except for Nikki, who might just be butthurt that Andi’s getting so much more attention than she ever did.
