The Walking Dead RECAP 3/2/14: Season 4 Episode 12 “Still”

Tonight on AMC THE WALKING DEAD returns with all its gory goodness and a new episode. Tonight’s episode is called, “Still” and on tonight’s show A bizarre but enlightening mission is brought on by a group member’s simple request.  If you happened to miss the last episode before the break, don’t worry. On last week’s episode it picked up right where we left off last week with our new characters, Abraham giving Tara and Glenn a ride.  We soon found out that Abraham had an agenda to get Eugene to Washington and Glenn was not interested, he wanted Maggie. Rick discovered someone else was in the house he was staying at and alerted Michonne and Carl.  The three of them headed down  train tracks and they come upon a sign like Carol and Tyreese did that pointed to Terminus.

On tonight’s episode we will see more of Daryl and Beth who were both absent from last week’s episode.  It looks like Daryl and Beth are setting up house.  Daryl goes hunting and Beth really wants a safe place to be away from the walkers.  Since they left the prison they have been doing nothing since moving and Beth really wants a safe place to be.  At the same time she has not given up hope.

Tonight’s The Walking Dead Season 4 episode 12 is going to be exciting, and you won’t want to miss it. RECAP: We see a car and both Daryl and Beth come out of the forest near it; Beth goes inside and looks to see if the engine will start as Daryl covers her with his crossbow. They hear the walkers coming and start to hide away inside the trunk of the car to make sure the walkers can’t get them; the walkers keep shaking the car through a storm and than it calms down all of a sudden. It’s now morning and Daryl is still aiming his crossbow at the entrance; Beth unties the knot keeping the trunk shut and gets out to see that the walkers are gone.

Daryl is in the forest and shoots a crossbow bolt into a tree and it snaps; Beth is by herself digging a hole in the ground trying to light a fire. Beth then makes trip wire to alert if walkers coming by; Daryl catches a snake and stabs it in the head. Daryl then skins the snake completely and fries it over the fire; the two than eat some crispy snake. Beth then mentions she’d like some alcohol since her dad never let her drink any; Daryl ignores her request even when she asks to go find some. Beth tells him to enjoy his snake and she goes off on her own, she then finds a group of walkers going her way and hide s behind a tree; she throws a rock to catch their attention but one comes near her. Daryl then finds her and she gets startled; she follows him and brings her back to the camp they made. Beth asks what is wrong with him since he is doing nothing and doesn’t want to live like that; she wants to leave and find a drink.

Beth and Daryl arrive on a golf course; she leads the way as Daryl follows behind. The two decide to enter a country house, the front door is locked so Daryl goes in from the back with a golf club.Inside is a a bunch of stuff everywhere with walkers hung from the ceiling and are moving around; there are corpses all over the place. Beth finds a flashlight; Daryl finds a ton of money and takes it with him. The two move on to the next rooms as walkers start knocking on the back door; they now enter the kitchen. Beth goes into the back room and finds a little pantry with some alcohol on top. Beth gets it and Daryl is still looking for supplies. A walker comes out and grabs her; Beth smashes the bottle on its face and stabs it with the broken bottle. Daryl and Beth move on through the country house; Daryl is taking all that he can and Beth is taking some new clothes. The two now make there way back to look into more rooms; all of a sudden the grandfather clock starts to make sound and walkers start swarming in; Daryl decides to go and take them on with a golf club; smashing every single one that comes in the head. He swings one in the face and gets some of his remains on Beth’s new clothes. The two move on and Beth says they made it and all she wants to do is is drink something; she tells Daryl to have fun and beat up more walkers. Beth finds something to drink; she cleans out a cup; Daryl gets some darts and starts to throw them into the faces of the people in the pictures on the wall. Beth is looking at the bottle and starts to cry; Daryl takes her bottle of alcohol and throws it on the floor smashing it. He tells her that her first drink will be better and the two leave.

Daryl and Beth are now walking in the forest again, Daryl finds a place where he and Michonne found a while ago; he and Beth go around finding a door to open with tons of moonshine. Daryl and Beth then enter the little house and he gives her some of it to drink; Beth takes the glass and drinks it. Beth says it’s the most disgusting thing she ever tasted, Beth keeps drinking and Daryl just starts covering the windows; Daryl mentions how the place is exactly what his dad had.

Beth and Daryl start playing a drinking game, Beth says she never been drunk and did something she regretted; Daryl takes a drink. Daryl then says he never been on vacation; Beth takes a drink. Beth says she never been in jail; Daryl has never been in jail. Daryl gets up and goes to the bathroom; he says he never eaten frozen yogurt or ponies and never relied on anyone for anything. He then rants how he never cut his wrist looking for attention and Daryl tells her to get up and use a crossbow; Beth is scared and telling him to stop it. Daryl shoots the walker and then Beth goes to stab the zombie in the head. Daryl then asks he what Beth wants; Beth says that it feels like he is a jack ass and doesn’t care about anyone. Beth says she isn’t dead because she isn’t like them and he shouldn’t treat her like crap because he is afraid; Daryl says he isn’t afraid of nothing. Beth says that when anyone gets close he pushes them away; Daryl says everyone they knew is dead and they will never see them again. Daryl starts getting emotional saying he should have done more to protect everyone and Beth hugs him; Daryl starts to cry.

Beth and Daryl are just sitting around; Beth says she knows why her dad stopped drinking. Daryl asks if she feels bad but Beth likes the feeling; Daryl admits he is a jerk when drunk. Daryl then mentions how his dad would hit his brother Merle; Daryl says that he was punched in the gut as well and threw up. Daryl then asks if she wants to know where he was before this all; he mentions he just followed his brother every day. Daryl says it was just them and no one else; he believed his brother was an ass. Beth says he misses him and admits missing Maggie and her big brother Shaun; even though he was annoying and over protective. She even says she misses her dad, she thought Maggie and Glenn would have a baby; Hershel would be a grandfather. She is sad it didn’t happen, she wanted him to be surrounded by people he loved; she wishes she could change. Beth says that Daryl is so used to all this life; Daryl mentions it’s because he grew up in an ugly environment and it’s nothing new for him. Beth mentions that she will be gone one day and Daryl will be the last man standing and she says he will miss her so much when she is gone; Beth tells him to stay who is now and not who was before. Beth then mentions to burn down the house because of the bad memories it gives Daryl; Daryl says they will need more booze. Daryl starts splashing it all around the house with Beth. The two then smash all the bottles and Beth lights a wad of cash; Daryl then throws it right into the house. The two then walk away as Daryl throws the glass bottle of moonshine into the fire. Beth gives the middle finger to the house and Daryl does the same.
